Re: 01 LH D3 October 26-27 Poll
0-0 for this game. Redstar is a very physical team and maybe just slightly more skilled than Lightning. Redstar's vertically gifted defense did their job well today. IMO if weren't for the one sided calls by the center officiating in favor of Redstar, I think this game would have ended differently. my guesstimation of shots on goal is 4-1 Lightning.allhatnocattle wrote:while the merits of club byes are debated in another thread, there were some meaningful D3 games today. Can anyone provide a summary of Redstar vs Lightning?

Hmmm - not sure about the Redstar game but even with the merits of club byes being discussed elsewhere, we saw a dominating 2-0 win by Texans Red over Kicks Blue today. Everyone had their panties in a wad about this Texans team not proving themselves in the QT because some of their players were on the PPL White team last year and others were saying this Texans team would be historically embarrassed at 0-18 - guess that's not happening and seems like they handled this QT qualifier Kicks Blue team just fineallhatnocattle wrote:while the merits of club byes are debated in another thread, there were some meaningful D3 games today. That's funny.....................I don't think anything different with Texans Red that wasn't expected, other then sitting in 8th place instead of 9th.................which you can thank Kicks Blue for having such a poor showing this year. At this point for Kicks Blue team, a "dominating performance" against them doesn't mean much and probably can be had by mid-level PPL teams. Everyone said at the beginning of the year that Texans Red would struggle, and a -12 GD for Texans Red after 8 games pretty much reflects what everyone expected (and that GD will only get larger with a final game against Redstar). Only difference is Texans Red is sitting in 8th place instead of 9th (again, thank Kicks Blue for that).01GirlsOnly wrote:Hmmm - not sure about the Redstar game but even with the merits of club byes being discussed elsewhere, we saw a dominating 2-0 win by Texans Red over Kicks Blue today. Long story short, wins over what's essentially a thrown together 02 Sting team and a Kicks Blue team that clearly overachieved during the summer are nothing to pound your chest over. If Texans Red was in QT last year, I speculate they wouldn't have made it through and I'll go out on a limb and say the top 3 teams in PPL are probably better at this point then the bottom 3 in LH D3 (which I'll admit is going to be a valid argument every year - and same could be said between top D3 and bottom D2 teams). I'm sure parents from Liverpool Keegan would agree with me, and I bet if you DD was on that team, you'd be singing a different song as well.

no chest pounding????? I can see the bruises from West of Ft. Worth!01GirlsOnly wrote:Oh my obsessed - no chest pounding - just the fact that Texans Red beat a team that did qualify in this year's QT - which means in the would've, could've, should've world you live in, Texans Red could've qualified had the rules required it and the 0-18 predictions by you pundits have already been disproven. I doubt the Liverpool parents are worried about LHGCL right now - they had their chance and didn't qualify just like any other team who could've, should've would've - no shame in PPL.
Personally, I said the only games that Texans Red & Sting Central would win would be against each other. So forgive me if the only thing that didn't hold true was a poor Kicks Blue performance (and again, based on their league performance to this point, it's no surprise) that allowed DT Red to get an extra win. WooHoo. Nothing was disproven. But hey, congrats to those girls on "dominating" the game.
As far as the would've, could've, should've between PPL teams like LP Keegan and DT Red, I said it was speculative to begin with.................If DT Red had to go through QT, I suspect they wouldn't have qualified unless they had lightning strike like Kicks Blue apparently did. Nothing wrong with making that speculation and it's got some logic to it. I guess we'll get to see soon enough since I saw that DT Red and LP Keegen are 2 of the 3 teams signed up for the Xara. Hopefully that tournament will have enough teams, neither of you will back-out, and we'll get at least one of the 1,000 speculative questions answered.
Good luck to your girls and continuing to prove all the forum pundits wrong.
I'm out.

Xara won't change who is in LHGCL and who isn't. If Texans win, you'll dismiss it, and if they lose, you'll say it proved something.
Have at it - we won't be 0-18 in LHGCL and have been competitive in most every game.

Nah. I give credit where it's due. I call it like I see it and don't look for excuses like others.01GirlsOnly wrote:Ah yes - another opportunity for would've could've should've - yes, when my dd played for Keegan, we did that too - woohoo, we beat a LHGCL team in a tournament (maybe with a guest player or their parents would say they weren't at full strength) or if we lost, it was because we lost out best player.

Speaking of which, I just can't leave that comment alone. Can I just point out your game history here????? Don't think that losing 1/2 your games with scores of 0-4, 0-4, 1-4, & 2-4 constitutes being "competitive in most every game." And I watched most of one of the 0-1 losses, and that scoreline isn't even close to reflecting how it could have looked (not in your favor). So that leaves one other 0-1 loss and the 2 games won that I've already said my peace on. 6 GF and 18 GA....................How is that considered competitive in most games? Again, nothing surprising about the results.
And get over the 0-18 number. No one cares except maybe the 1 or 2 people that might have actually provided that specific "prediction". You make it sound like everyone on the board is tied to that predicted stat. I know I sure as hell didn't throw that out (as pointed out earlier).
Honestly, I don't know whether to classify your comments as delusional or simply defensive at this point. Whichever it is, have at it and enjoy wherever it leads to.
