Based on what I have seen from all the top 05 teams, I think they would benefit more from another 9v9 season. What does the rest of the 05 soccer world Think?

I pulled this from their website in regards to the 6v6 league ( http://www.cfbsoccer.net/2011/academy.htm ):

  • No off-sides in Under 7 or 6v6 league (games played on 60x40 field)
the 6v6 league will be scheduled 8 games
6v6 league will have one certified referee

Division Length of Halves Cost Players on Field Game day Roster Size
Under 9/10 22 minutes $385 6 v 6 (60 x 40) 10

As far as 11v11 or 9v9, I have heard CP would prefer to stay 9v9 as long as possible and as long as competition dictates it will be a challenging learning environment.

I think you maybe on to something with the 6v6 thing. Might not be a bad idea to play 11v11 and 6v6 both. I do believe you have to go where the competition goes. 6v6 would be a good supplement. I wonder if Nicole can make the 11v11 fields just a little smaller, like 110 or even 100 long?

D'feeters 05 (Black) prefers 9v9 I hope there will be enough teams interested in playing 9v9. The 6v6 league sounds great!

I don't want to speak for her but I doubt Nicole can change the field sizes at Cox.  She has several age groups on the smaller fields and gets older girls and ECNL games on the big fields.  And an important part of CFBAL is that the bulk of games are played on the immaculate greens at Cox.

I agree with Pulpy that 9v9 is preferred.  Texas Cup showed us that playing 11v11 on smaller fields is not that pretty and a little cramped and I would prefer to see 9v9 rather than the huge field run and gun that results.  Again, my humble opinion and just stating my preference.

field #4 at Cox is 110 x 65, from experience (Spring 2013) the field can not be made smaller as they use it for 11v11 for CFBSA and mid cities rec league games and they don't want it dual painted and the goals are fixed (planted in the ground), for comparison Cox#5 is 120x 70 if memory serves me right.

this weekends Texas Cup game fields were 90x50 and that was frustrating for playing 11v11

IMO, the 6v6 will be a ton of fun for the girls

I agree that 9v9 & 6v6 is the way to go. It was a little weird seeing 22 girls on that smaller field at Texas Cup.

I found this on further review of their website:

http://www.cfbsoccer.net/2011/file/acad-rules-U9-6v6.pdf

It is on right side of this page: http://www.cfbsoccer.net/2011/academy.htm

Also for those trying to figure out what division to play in I found this (Fall's standings and divisions):
