We would be interested. I have a very qualified LHC goalie that's a rock star . Let me know if we could come practice so you can look at her.

Looking For A Goalie Empty Tournament dates?

Post by Goalie00girl 03/03/14, 04:19 pm

Any idea of tournament dates?  Also what division in LHCL?  Just moved to the area and scouting teams for my daughter - she's played keeper for 2 years.

Wait a minute! I think I saw her at Espiritu Fine Wine, Ale & Spirits Saturday night. Oh, wait a minute, that was a mid-fifties rocker with long hair and a soccer ball tattoo I saw. Never mind.  Very Happy

Nothing funny about it, its a great place to hang out and I looked pretty darn good. For the record, InaB said she loved my tattoo.

Plenty of teams need a keeper, but Rabbit drawing Ina out with that prison tat is a thing of beauty...

I know that there were several teams that lost a GK during last season. Some may still be in need, and you will have your pick in spring if rosters won't allow an addition at this point. Post again soon if you haven't found the right fit.

Looking For A Goalie Empty Re: Looking For A Goalie

Post by Goalie00girl 13/03/14, 10:46 am

Just a note of warning for anyone checking out this team 'looking for a goalie.'  It's always interesting to find out why the goalie quit.  We did some checking and she was not released as coach is saying.  Also remember that you often get what you pay for in a private team - we have heard you find that out the hard way when coaches aren't accountable to a club or higher entity.  Just things to think about...

Hi Goalie00girl. Did the coach tell you in private that the goalie quit, because it wasn't stated that way in the posted message.  Very Happy

There is a lot of club teams which match that description, not just independents. Indy coaches do have accountability or they will be eaten up by any amount of turnover. The big clubs can churn through a lot of girls before IF any accountability happens.

Now since the 00 girls are in the 4th year of select after years of academy, you should have a pretty darn good idea on who to steer towards and who to avoid like Juan Pablo.

The goalie's parents actually told me the goalie quit, after the coach told me privately she was released due to 'team chemistry' issues.  Parents that questioned repeated practices cancelled, lack of tournaments played, games with 30+ shots on goal, blame always placed on keeper, etc...seem to be the real chemistry issue.  My big question was why the coach was so hesitant to tell me the team name here if all was well with this team?

Well, I do know the team name, but don't know a lot about the team make up or the coach other than the fact that they did very well coming out of Plano and going into LH after qualifying. As to cancelled practices, we had our fair share due to all the weather conditions this winter. Unfortunately, the goalies IS the easiest to blame on any team. As to chemistry, that can have a major impact on any team from any position. Goalie00, if the coach is posting looking for a guest player at goalie, then that should tell you that there were problems. Personally, I would say that the coach did the right thing by NOT calling out the team name in public - since then the goalie would be in the glaring public light along with the team. As to the rest, hopefully things will turn around for the team as well as the goalie. Best to you and this team and goalie.  Smile

Practice times and scheduling problems for the coach. Chemistry, a handful of girls are wicked rude, very unpleasant, not unlike the parents. No names should be revealed on this forum but, the scores tell the story. Terrible chemistry on this team, run the other way! The team IS on the verge of collapse!

Post by InaB 15/03/14, 06:54 am

Hi Itswho, ok, I don't want you to think I am trying to be rude to you, but if you are the parent of the goalie, I think you need to let go of the conversation instead of changing your name. I think we can all tell you are upset about the situation, but trying to kill the team off on this board isn't the answer. It would be far better to take the high road and let it go. I wish you well and a great future in soccer.  Smile

GoalieGirl/itswhoyouthink: Be Advised:
InaB is giving you kind words of wisdom and excellent advice, when it would be easier (more entertaining) to stand back and watch a train wreck.

Regardless of circumstances or fault, be glad you were given an opportunity to move your kid to a more (your view) positive place at midseason. Doing what you think best doesn't need to be justified.

InaB! I didn't know you could change your name! How do you do that?!

Not sure who 'guest' is but my name hasn't changed.  We are looking for a team for our daughter and have gotten confusing info about this team from coaches and parents.  Please note that I didn't list the team name or coach because I don't know enough to make it public.  From the feedback we got I'm not surprised to see the post above though.

I just wanted to put a note of warning for parents and not upset the rest of you - we all know people's opinions vary and colleagues tend to have each other's back, but these forums exist for people to discuss and share info.  Shouldn't be a problem if your team is stable and can withstand the criticism.
