14 days left until verbal commitments become contracts. Most teams have the majority of their players "locked" up, however smart coaches will leave a couple of open spots until the very end.
Any parents out there still not made their decision? If so, what factors are you weighing in?
Good luck to everyone in making the best possible decision for their DDs, and see you in the other side with bank accounts $2,000-$4,000 lighter!

Is it safe to say that if your coach has not called you for an invite you should be looking?

More that you the parent should have had, or need to quickly have, a discussion to understand where your DD stands in the pecking order as of now.
Most will be fairly honest if you ask.

If the coach has never given you any feedback on where your daughter stands, then no news is probably bad news, or at least means the coach is waiting to see if anyone "better" shows up. Lefty is right, reach out to the coach immediately and ask for feedback on where your daughter stands.

Not necessarily. Some coaches are poor communicators and some parents never ask questions. The cause of most hard feelings and surprises this time of year is assumptions made by one or both sides.
Your coach should be giving you written player evaluations at the end of the Fall and Spring seasons. In addition, you should have a very candid conversation at the end of the Spring about his/your expectations moving forward. This conversation includes where your dd fits in the plans.

Told my parents if I'm not talking to you I'm happy. If your not talking to me your happy. I set up a day where we could have parent-coach conversations and some took that opportunity, so no communication is not always a bad thing as long as it's known upfront why it's not necessary.

I guess as a matter of principle If i were the coach i'd try to make sure and lock down my players.

If you have not had the conversation with your coach by now, it should be a huge red flag. He most certainly already had the talk with the players he wants for sure. Postponing the talk with the bubble players in case something better comes along.

Completely agree, My 00 and 02 made the way for me to be smarter and "play my part better" for my 09

Posts previous to mine were relating the stages of soccer commitment to that of human relationship commitments. Academy= Dating & Select= Serious relationship....etc etc...
I figured select was actually like marriage...legally committed and bonded. And just considering all the parents who are apprehensive about committing but have to do it anyway...keep your hearts 04 parents keep your hearts...these clubs iz smart...these clubs iz smart!!
I just try to be myself in posting and not sound like all of the other soccer know it all parents that are in here.

Just listen to K104fm and 97.9fm on the radio in your Lincoln Towncar for about a week or two and by the time signing day comes you'll be like mannn "these ___'s ain't loyal" but next year "it ain't nun to cut that _____ off"....
