U-12 Story Lines of the Past Year

So now that we are starting a BRAND NEW season, I thought back to all the changes and drama from the past year. Here are the big ones..... Am I missing any....
This is what kept us going this year
Solar Gio No More……..
Rezaie to Texans.......
Higgy to Sting.......
Could it Be True……
The Big Boom Down South…..
Rumor!?!?!?!........
Club Pass Players......
WANTED….dedicated soccer players (I only count this because I laugh when I read yo#10 Comments)

Is Solar using another team to fill Gio's D2 bye?

Good question. As it stands now on GotSoccer, Solar has 4 02g teams. Red, Gio, Silver and Royal. With Gio gone and it doesn't appear silver has played a game since last June, then Royal appears to be the heir to the spot unless Solar just lets it go. What are the odds of that happening? It'd seem obvious that the smart thing for the club is to throw any team in there to retain a bye as opposed to immediately losing it. Worst case then would be that it'd take two years to lose the bye as opposed to surrendering it immediately now.

Between this and the fact that Texans South will move to D3 and some other new Texans team will inherit the D1 bye reeks of LH catering to big clubs around here.
The whole idea of just plugging in random teams to 'competitive' leagues is asinine at best. Can't imagine something like this happening in real sports leagues. Just crazy...

If you think that's a mess, just wait 'till next year now that the ECNL clubs have figured out the blueprint for how to form their ECNL teams without sacrificing their top LHGCL byes.
I would strongly suggest that anyone on an '02 D1/D2 team go search out and study up on some of the '01 threads related to this subject, in order to be prepared for similar chaos and roster churn to what happened with the '01's this spring...

I don't think South is fielding a team at all for 02's. Not even a d3 team.

If I had to guess, and draw on info that I've heard from various sources (some not very reliable), I would say they will form two teams. They have enough talent to spread it out, and enough people interested in being on the team to fill in the bench. One team will take the 02 D2 spot (which will probably be the better 03s mixed with the less talented - but still good - 02s). The remaining 03s will stay in 03 D1. But let me stress that I have ZERO first hand knowledge of this. That's just the plan that makes the most sense to me.

When they have had success in winning games and attracting top talent , they have earned the right to be cocky. Nothing is wrong with big egos as long as you win. Big egos only become big problems and headache when you loose. Most people typically complain of big egos and team chemistry when their DD are on a losing team or their DD are bench warmers on a winning team.

You don't earn the right to be cocky. Cocky is a negative term. Earning something is a positive action. You earn the right to be confident. Along with confidence, comes the responsibility to be humble. Solar has earned the right to be confident in every single match they play. Cocky, will get them beat.

Bet they don't get beat by Fever, cocky or not! I agree that cocky is a negative connotation and humility creates greatness but IMO they are the top shelf of D1 this year. There is a canyon between 1-3 and 4-15 in LH.

Usually is, and only gets more pronounced as they get older and move to ECNL.
NTX usually produces 2 sometimes 3 teams that can compete on the national level.

I appreciate the top 1% of NTX 02 girls who are truly gifted and love the game enough eat, breath and sleep soccer. If they have achieved success through fair competition and hard work, they can be as cocky as they want. Actually it is the best part about competition is to talk the talk then walk the walk. Why is it a negative to be cocky? The only negative I see is the losers' whining about their opponents' rudeness, the ref, the weather....etc.
