Re: King Tut Final?
Doesn't look like much thought and research went into the seeding

Re: King Tut Final?
The tournament is called King TuT (the "King" of the "Tune-up-Tournaments". Clever wordplay by some guy Gunner9 knows really well... ). It's not King Seed, or the Seeding Showdown.
The purpose of King TuT is to assist teams with preparation for QT, not to assist LHGCL with seeding. The fact that LHGCL uses King TuT for U11 QT seeding is just a by-product.
By the way, notice that I specifically said U11 QT seeding.
For U12 and above, LHGCL has historically seeded based off of previous years league results. LHGCL teams that have to requalify are typically given the highest seeds, and then the remaining teams are typically seeded based off of placement in PPL/APL from the prior year.
So if you were looking for King TuT or Puma Cup to have an impact on seeding for U12 QT, it likely wouldn't happen no matter what the format or brackets.

Re: King Tut Final?
Also, QT seeding was never a consideration in forming the TUT. The LHGCL then, as now, did a pretty good job of seeding the QT, using whatever means available including the good old "eye test" of trusted veterans. Puma cup was the only organized game in town at the time and some coaches were frustrated in having to get to the SF's before they got a competitive match. The TUT's premise was 4 competitive matches, no trophies. Parents hated the idea, but most coaches loved it.
The first few years we relied VERY heavily on input from the coaches and some trusted "eyes" in bracketing the TUT. It would have been nice to have had the FBR back then.

Normally wouldn't respond to that, but since you're such a stickler for details.......

Re: King Tut Final?
Personally I would have liked to have seen the Gold and Silver mixed up a little because there's really no difference between the teams, playing a tune up against teams you played last year just seems like a giant waste of time to me. If you look at the rankings, Silver is actually the tougher division.

So what happened with Sting USA 03 playing up in the 02's? Did they decide not to play?

I agree with GrandTXSoccer. Sanchez and Sparta are both very strong teams. They should have made it in last year. Both teams have had strong performances in recent tournaments...... but you never know with 11-12 year olds.
Good luck to both
