Sting Manager AND TX Spirit manager would know, and yes, CPP was used... it's interesting to think just a player or two could swing a game from a huge loss to an unprobable win... Got a great look at why this Sting team is so dangerous though - one player that can run like the wind, I'm talking a whole new gear of speed. A ball over the top and no one will catch this kid... they might have won had she not missed the goal both times she shot at it... So CPP or not, she missed the goal meaning they probably could have won had she actually gotten the ball down a few inches on both shots... I wouldn't blame this loss on the CPP, just a couple errant shots on goal.

Oh, and nothing wrong with using CPP, it's been sanctioned by LHGCL and is completely legal and "approved" - so I don't see the problem... We had a short roster and had to do something and that's exactly what the CPP is for...

So, how many players did you have? 8? 9? (you are allowed to play with this many)
Without the CPP, how many girls did you have? How "short" were you that you "HAD" to do something.
Is your team unable to play with 14? 13? for a league game? Only 1 CPP player? that doesn't support the argument that you could not have played without her.
So be honest (though I am betting we will never get an answer) - how many did you have to play, and how many CPP?

Will make for a big game on Saturday against SRFC...SRFC beat Aztecs 4-2 last night, which would put SRFC and Sting alone at the top of the standings. SRFC has some speed and firepower too...should be a good game

But, Sting did miss some shots. It happens. Good competition, just a stinky way to lose in league.

Looks like Texas Spirit doesn't play until Sunday this weekend, while Texas Spirit Red plays on Saturday. Wonder if we will see at least 1 CPP since Red has an open roster position.
But lets be honest here - Texas Spirit Red was in 7th in D3. They need all the points they can get in order to avoid requalification next summer.

Yes, there will be two Red players on the TXS 04 roster on Sunday I'm sure... and agreed, Red needs all the points they can get as does any team that doesn't want to requalify next summer. There's a lot of soccer left before next summer rolls around and a lot of opportunities for teams to use the CPP - just sucks that we seem to have been the first team to use it and will now be ridiculed until the next team uses it.

Re: Lake Highlands 04 DIII Week 5
Personally I don't like CPP being used to play "down" but I think it's great to play players "up" because playing up is for development of the player and playing down is used just to get a win. All I can say is we ALL better get used to CPP being used/abused going forward!

Personally I think the rule is garbage and you should play with the roster you have, but I do not make the rules.
Well, since we were the first to apparently use the CPP rule, I doubt anyone from TXSR will complain or whine about the Big Club affects of CPP. Interestingly enough, I have no real opinion on whether it's good or bad since this is my first DD to come through the land of Select soccer so I have nothing to compare it to. However, if it went away tomorrow, not sure anyone would notice or care since our team was the only one to use it so far.

I guess it would be different, though, if it went away yesterday. You would have had to play with 13 players (oh no!) - and the win would be in doubt.
And my comment was - since Red has 15 on its roster, would they be playing a CPP to fill the 16th slot because they "need" to (as you stated above).
Your "need to do something" was a need to win - that's all. If it was a "need" to replace players, you would have used 2 CPP to replace those who were out. Doesn't the win feel a little hollow? After all, your team didn't win - girls from your team, aided by 3 girls who had a notable impact did.
As discussed in other threads, this use of CPP to pass players down generally only benefits a team in getting wins, and a more deserving team (say ETUFC) who may end up behind Red at the end of the season, was impacted as well.
But congrats - Red got the points - did they deserve them? If they can't get enough points to place in the top 6 in D3 without 3 CPP, do they deserve to skip requalifying?

I think it's how a club uses CPP, doesn't matter if they are big or small. The perception is this was done mainly to get a win. The reality of it, is when done this way, if that was the case, it's condoned cheating. Whats the point of having different divisions? How do the rostered kids feel when they know the win came because of this? I don't have a kid on either team, but thought it was cool that Sting west was on a roll, Kind of bs their record took a blemish because of this.
Should be fun to watch Feet Black play TXS in D-3 this season.
I think JK might have more integrity though and play with the team he signed.
