Why the difference in games played d1 vs d2d3 games played

I was looked at the standings across different age groups and divisions and it occurred to me that the d1 teams only played 9 games while all D1\D2 teams have played 12/13. It was my understanding they did this so HS soccer could fit in, but would that not apply to the d1 teams as well. Just seems odd and I know how hard it was to play 2 games a week for the last month of so. Does anyone have any insight?

Only 8 teams in D1, a complete season will be 14 games. It appears the LH fall schedule is heavier to accommodate a lighter spring schedule and reduce conflicts with High School soccer.

I'm thinking Premier League schedule may also be a factor in the D1 schedule.
