Player Stat Performance

Can anyone recommend a book or software that works on iPhones, computer, etc that will facilitate keeping player stats?

exactly. not sure of any statistical apps that truly track why a team is successful. if opponent doesn't score you can't lose

My DD is a keeper. We just thought it would be fun to track GA, saves, who was opponent, etc. I'm not looking for some crystal ball on why a team is successful. And the stats would be only for our viewing and fun. Not sure this software is even out there. It would have to be easy and quick or otherwise I won't use it. I don't really want to carry a notepad. That's just one more useless thing to carry but on my iPhone ... I would do thst.

guess I'm old school because I carry a notepad. besides the software on a notepad can be easily customized on the fly 
for keeper's, save percentage is like a pitcher's ERA. GA means squat on a "less experienced" team if the keeper saved says 20 of 22. the GA would be 2 per game but the save % would be about 90%

Check out the soccermeter app. Easy to use and tracks time of possession, connected passes, shots, etc

Standard goalkeeping statistics as they are used today are not a proper measure of goalkeeping performance.
The traditional "shots on goal" does not include every dangerous ball that is played into the goal area.
Goals against average (GAA) is possibly the most useless statistic of them all.

If you read a goalkeeper had two saves you might think they were not very involved in the game. When they actually may have had 20+ touches on the ball.
