SoCal Starts Junior ECNL and EGSL this Spring

This is interesting. My guess is Texas is next to do something like this:
EGSL starting at U9 in SoCal and Junior ECNL for U12 and U13

Interesting move. So do those sister teams not play in the local "classic league" any longer or are they doing double league duty?

US Club has already hurt US Youth Soccer/North Texas by taking their top players and teams. It makes a ton of sense to now start a US Club league for the 2nd tier teams and for the younger 1st teams.
Now teams will have a choice to pick what works best for them. Competition is always good.

The league website has schedule and standings. Starts at U9. First games are scheduled for next weekend out there.

Is the socal market as saturated as ours though with "sister teams"
In the 06 academy ages for example.
Solar 06
4-5 teams
Texans
4-5 teams
Sting
5-6 teams
FCD
5-6 teams
Feet
2-3 teams
From looking at that site I think only Surf had multiple teams in the 06 division.
All those 06 squads pull out and go to league of this nature that would remove a lot of squads and talent from the competitive pool. But I'm sure most would still do multiple leagues.

I'm pretty sure, with the little knowledge that I have ECNL will have restrictions on the team playing in other leagues. local leagues plus tournaments will feel the pinch. This will be a complete hostile takeover.
