New 05 US Youth Soccer Rankings

Curious what you think of these new rankings?  Seem fairly accurate to me.  Sting Higgy is not included as its only games are JDL games.  And, on that note, JDL games are obviously not included in the rankings, which would only increase DTS's distance from the field.

Suggest at least 7 of these teams can play within a goal or 2 of DTS. And we know that's not the case.

No doubt about DTS. Since August, only an Oklahoma 04 team has been within a goal (not knowing all the JDL results).

Overall, I think this looks fair and will certainly evolve as more games and tourneys get baked in.

Only item that jumps out at me is FCD Red. Not sure they are a #2. Solid team, but I prob would have them at #4-6.

I know they lost to DTS Adames 3-1 in Plano Labor Day. What was the score of DTS Adames v FCD Red in JDL? I believe DTS beat Solar Colvin 2-1 and Solar Pulp 1-0 but I'd be curious as to how close FCD Red played them on 10/23. Anyone know?

The JrECNL tourney later this month might provide more clarity on the Top 10
Also, Colvin tied FCD Red 2-2 in JDL. But again, I understand JDL is not part of the rankings.

The 10/23 game was 6-1. Not a typical result for FCD Red. But they did beat Kicks S in Labor Day and have done very well otherwise. FCD Red tied Colvin in JDL and they haven't played Pulpaneck. With more games, I do think the Solar teams will climb.

Here is the way I would see the top 10, Sting Higgy not on here. IMHO, I would swap Pulp with Kicks S; I would also swap Sting Parsons and Sting West. Solar Byars should not be anywhere in the top 15 since they dual roster Colvin's Kids & when they are not available it's a Second Div Team.

How can they seem fairly accurate when you have a team ranked at 19 that plays in PrimeTime 9v9 and is higher than a good few LH D1 teams!.
Nothing against the team and DH is a great coach but really that's accurate rankings? SMH

That team currently has the benefit of having only ranked games being played in PrimeTime.  I would, however, like to see how the USA team does against some LH teams.  They are tearing up Plano.

All ranking systems will be messed up when they compare teams that play in different leagues, especially ones that are as different as Plano and LH. You just have to take it for what it is worth.

Had the opportunity to watch the Redknapp vs. USA game this weekend. USA is better than expected, and honestly under ranked. They are a top 15 team and I believe they will prove it, if they would compete in the Gold Div in tournaments going forward.

Shockingly, and I cannot believe I am saying this, but another team that should be considered in the Top 25 discussion is McKinney United. Though they played Redknapp to a draw over the weekend, they controlled the middle of the field. Not too bad for a team that costs around $700 for the year.

One of my friend's daughters could easily start for a D1 LH team, but chooses to play for McKinney United, and so I asked him whats up. Here is a cut-n-paste from an email he sent me (names removed to protect the innocent):

Different team. What's McKinney United charge?

He told me "around $700."

Tatkonkaburger I won't go into details but this years fees will be around $310 per player. That includes jerseys, warm ups, league fees, practice fields. Currently we have a roster of 14 girls and fees would drop more if we add a few more girls. Only thing it doesn't cover is the gas to get you to the field. We believe that everyone should have he ability to play at the highest level regardless of their financial status. If you make a million dollars a year or need a ride to the game we love you the same.

Great job.  Good on you guys for making NTX soccer affordable and being competitive.

"My view is that soccer is a sport with winners and losers. The kids will have fun either way. If a coach isn't developing his players then it is quite simple: he is a bad coach and you should move your player to another team. This has nothing to do with the rankings! Please don't get me started on leagues that don't post their results. Enjoy!!!"
