9v9 Questions Empty 9v9 Questions

Post by Solar East Gray 11/06/18, 09:44 am

Happy Monday! What a Face

just a few questions about this upcoming fall:

will all 09 teams be playing 9v9?

would they have to play up to be 9v9 or since they will be U10 now will the 09's be in 9v9 in most leagues?

just asking bc had a friend that has an 08 and said they just started 9v9 in May.

affraid bounce #whosready ?

We (Solar Evans) played up in the spring against 2008s in 9v9 at the Pit and also in a tournament in May, so there are options. Technically we were under the U11 age group, but it was all 2008 and a couple of 2009 teams put together.

Be interesting. The Federation has been strongly against a U10 playing on a U11 select team. Are they going to allow a work-around by letting U10 teams play in a U11 league which is called a "development" division?

This is what I've been wondering. It seems most the established 09 teams are planning to play 9v9 in the upcoming fall and spring seasons (just like most the 08 teams did). But, that is contrary to USSF guidelines. Will USSF be able to change how the leagues enabled this approach in the 17/18 seasons?

I guess it depends on how serious they want to be. They have the tools, but do they care? Or if the care, care to use those tools?

I don't believe the PIT is a sanctioned league so you can play without following the general rules as sanctioned leagues.

Isn't it sanctioned by US Club? They have to have sanctioning from somebody to get referees, wearing Federation badges, to do games.

U90C and Primetime are USClub sanctioned. The same goes for JDL (US Club based)

The FIFA guidelines are guidelines. How these organizations are getting around the guidelines is offering younger aged teams the ability to "play up" in developmental leagues. This allows these organizations to stay in compliance of the guidelines and still offer 9v9 for 7v7 aged teams and 11v11 for 9v9 aged teams.
