    Guest playing?

Post  supermann on Sat Aug 28, 2010 12:08 pm

My DD is looking for a guest play opportunity this Labor Day weekend. Her coach has given the OK. She is a defender, and also played outside mid for several years. She can play left or right. I also posted in "players looking" but I thought posting this in her age group section might yield more responses. Thanks!

No offense to you and DD, but I would be pretty upset if our coach took a guest player when we are trying to get ready for LHGCL league play. I guess if a team had some injuries and absolutely needed to give players a break, I guess then??? Or a back up keep, which you are not. Are you playing because your team is not playing that weekend or are you already disgruntled? Just asking, o.k. if you don't want to respond, but a curious post just the same.

Pitchmon, no offense taken whatsoever. Very Happy

DD's team is not playing this weekend, and she is not disgruntled at all. However, she would like to spend even more time out on the field, and take a look at what is out there. Like most stories, this is a very individual one. Her focus on soccer is intensifying dramatically and she just can't seem to get enough.

Her current team has a *wonderful* coach, and fabulous families, which is *the* biggest reason she chose to stay this year. The rest is a *very* long story, and it isn't particularly entertaining or controversial, so I won't burden anyone with it. Wink

That said, we aren't looking to cause any upset to anyone on any teams. Shocked That would be very bad! At this age group, though, there are often conflicts with other commitments and injuries, which is why I put the word out here.

In fact, she has been contacted by teams that are having those very issues. I think it is very kind of those teams to offer her the chance to play, though that means my Labor Day weekend just disappeared. scratch Somehow having kids has taken over my life. Go figure!
