Weed out players?

Third year on team and We have a GOOD 02 team with a lot of potential. We have a lot of players looking at our team and need to make some room. Want to get your guys opinion, Going into our last year before select.

Grab the bull by the horn and do the right thing, otherwise expect the same when your GOOD players are getting recruited away, they might just stop responding to your emails.

Laugh when you cut a player that you "deem" not worthy of your team and they bloom into a player you hate to see on the other team's bench when your DD has to play against her.

Honestly are you positive that 14/15 parents of superstars are going to enjoy their DD sitting the bench part of the game? Because last time I sat next to a starter's parents at a game that their dd got taken out of so someone else's kid could play...well psycho does come to mind.

Having too many little superstars can be as much as a problem as having too many slow/"not good enough" players.
Remember that most of the parents arrive with their parent goggles on and they don't take them off either.

i would say that if your playing time is cut you are being sent a message. most coaches don't have the nads to tell a parent/kid to hit the road, which is really what needs to be done because their are plenty of teams at different levels that would allow the kid to keep playing and keep enjoying the sport.

Coaches will TRY to make kids quit before cutting them. If playing time is slim and coach is cold and or rude to the kid, that's a sign. Pack your bags and find a better fit. Also if there are certain parents who have inside knowledge and they avoid you..............BINGO.

Well, the pollsters have spoken. I do agree on the "coach to parent talk". At the same time some parents SHOULD know,
and/or stand back and take a good look at what they have.
Thus, reality check. I honestly don't mean to be mean about it. example: It's like taking my dd to a D1 team and seeing with my own eyes she doesn't belong. This is academy soccer. It's a good thing we have another year to
