Indeed congrats Samba your win gives hope to the rest of the '03 world. If you are a score watcher and try to draw conclusions from the score of games against like opponents then this tournament really confused you.

Indeed true for the score watchers.
However, Samba really played a great game. They seemed to block every single one of our passing lanes. SRSA had more scoring ops, but Samba got them in the net. In the end, the ball in the net is what counts.

It does look like the scores were all over the board.
Samba - great win and huge confidence builder
SRSA - still the top team but maybe the gap is smaller
Sting - still has work to do but strong players in every position
Solar - maybe the surprise team of the group..did well but couldn't put it together on final day
Texans - too many players on one team to get a rhythm
Cosmos - I have seen them play better. I am sure they will be better next tournament.
Over all, really fun games to watch.

Solar 03g kennington

Solar 03g Kennington is on the rise. They have some great talent and after watching them in the Primetime Tournament they have made a name for themselves. Their forwards are fast and one of them has very good footwork. They held up to Samba Black and lost 3-2 which should of been a large win for Samba. SRSA tore them up but over all did a fantastic job. They have a strong goalie with some technique and not afraid to go to the ball.
Anyone think they are a team to watch out for. Seems like they are getting stronger?

The Solar Dynamo is good team with nice size, the lefty up top is very good...if she can continue to guess play.
The Samba team was very hungry on Sunday and they out athleticized SRSA. The SRSA has better pure soccer technique/skill, but the bigger/hungrier dog showed up on Sunday.
This will be a fun match up to watch for the next (2) years.

Very true. Hope to put that hungry dog out of it's misery in 2 weeks!!
All in all, many SRSA parents have friends on the Samba side. We know this win was important to them. The loss was important to our girls. They have never lost to an '03 team. This is their reality check. Teams are getting better. We can't beat all the teams out there by 10+ points. Those teams are getting better. This is the joy and agony of competetive soccer.
As all you select parents have told me.... Enjoy the ride, select soccer will be here before you know it and it is a totally different beast.

What a great weekend. Samba got a very nice win over #1 SRSA. What a great matchup this will be going forward now that SRSA knows they can be beat and now that Samba knows they can play as good as anyone else. Expect both teams to continue to step up their game. How many more times will we say "SRSA vs Samba in the final"?
