Ferdie is a good local DFW guy and well known as a very positive skills coach as well as holding some juggling world records (I think?).

Anyway, we actually have the rug. I did not buy it as a "way to teach dd everything about soccer." She's got a club coach, good skills training and all that. But we bought it because we were looking for a fun rug for her room that she would like and would look good in her room. She loves her soccer rug. And with this rug I can tell her to "go around your rug" and she goes and does her skills and I don't have to remind her which ones to practice. She'd never sit and watch a video or something like that. And she gets our little 3 year old on it and teaches the 3 year old to do all the things. They both use that tiny skills ball. Yes, it costs a lot...but so does everything else I pay for with soccer, ha. People who don't want to spend the $ would definitely be better off spending their $ on club fees and lessons. But, for us, we've found it to be nice "dual purpose" item that is fun for a room and also happens to help my kids learn their skills. And, no, I'm not a paid spokesperson, LOL.

The cost of that rug is about 3 or 4 months with our skills coach! which is about 24 to 32 sessions at 1 hour 30 min a session. Hmmmmmmmm

We pay a skills coach for private sessions too.....and we tried to get him to also lay on her floor and look cute but he refused.

I'm starting to think totalsoccer just looks for opportunities to tell peeps they are wasting their money and to make suggestions on how they could use their money better.

Anyone giving this idiot money is wasting their money, although that kinda sums of most of what we spend on soccer.

Ferdie is one of the best skills coaches in DFW, period. If you check with many of the older girls or boys that are in LHD1, they have all spent time with Ferdie at some point. Before you start calling someone an idiot, you might want to make sure you know their background. He holds world records in juggling, and has played professionally in Europe & Australia. My DD considers him one of her ATF coaches, and he has been a big part of her development.
