Wonder how long before weather changes current LHGCL schedules?

Now - fields are closed tonight

5 games left and holding. We've only played 4 games over the last 3 months. Looks like we're headed to June season games, ugh.

Maybe NT soccer leagues need to make a one time deal with Jerry Jones and start scheduling games indoors. Of course who'd want to pay the parking passes ;-)

Maybe cut a deal with FC Dallas.  Their fields were open all weekend - including grass - even after the rain on Saturday night.

So after 2 days of drying, LH fields still not available.

After hours of rain Saturday night - FC Dallas fields delayed opening 1 hour.

I don't think it fair to compare FCD fields (world class facility) with UTD or 'Parks & Rec" maintained city field facilities.

Many of the school districts have turf fields and play high school soccer on turf. Why not rent a few turf fields for the rescheduled games?

Are the teams involved going to pay to rent the fields?
Doubt LHGCL will pay for it out of their profit....I mean budget.

I think the point is - LHGCL does have other options, if they chose to exercise them - high school fields, FC Dallas grass and turf, etc.

And profits / budget?  They would just pass it on to the teams.

I mean, heck, they already charge a "BYE FEE".

Really?  a fee of $625 for doing nothing but "securing" bye?

My estimate is that they make over $100,000 for doing . . . nothing?

I know this is in the general discussion forum, but regarding U11's:

There are still 32 D1 games left. Most of them either have an impact on D2 or D3 relegation. Just a few D3 games are left. In the interest of getting this rain soaked season out of the way, why not just play the games that have a bearing on the D1-D3 relegation, promote the top 2 D3 teams to D1, relegate the bottom 4 out of D3, and continue to use the 20 team supergroup next year. This should eliminate over half the games needed to be played (in U11).

I don't see how they will be able to get all the games in with Memorial day this weekend and tournaments (some out of town) next weekend using current fields. And then there is the chaos of June with players movement, camps already paid for, vacations, etc..

If games go into June...during free agency, I hope mangers are vigilantly checking rosters for alleged guest players (i.e. potential recruits) posing as CPPs...or other similar shenanigans.

So now the team must come up with more money just to finish the season?
What if the remaining games would have no impact on relegation or a bye?
Why pay?
Guess it just depends how bad you want to play an actual game.

Do the owners of the fields get payed for games not played? If not there should be money left for at least some games to be played elsewhere.

Or why not just transform the games left into a tournament style format where teams play 2 or 3 games in a weekend? Similar to LH QT, surely something can happen to play remaining games spread over 1-2 weekends.

I'm guessing lack of fields for the number of players across all age groups trying to get games in.

Edit: Added up all games left to play (slow day). 241 not counting womens group.

UTD closed tonight. Bet those fields are green and full. Not to mention soggy.

Some '03 games for tonight have been moved to Lake Park.

Let us know field conditions at LP. Flew in to DFW last week over the fields and about half of each one was under water.

I understand the issues they have faced with the constant rain, but could the communication be any worse?  

Games posted, then pulled days later with no notice.  

Won't respond to team manager's emails.

No communication on how they plan to finish out the season (or other options they are looking at).

We all joke about playing into June, but based on the forecast for rain, it is unlikely they will get any more games played before the end of the first week in June - which could mean the inability to get every game in until mid-late June.

A LITTLE communication would be nice.

Well, are there not an abundance of turf fields in the DFW area? Or is the rental too high (I assume rent money would be necessary).
