Game Day Practices

Just out of curiosity... Are there any other high school coaches out there practicing on game day besides my daughter?

No practice on game days. Now they get to the field almost an hour early to warm up but that's it.

No practice on game day although every other day of the week does seem to include some sort of "punishment" in the form of vomit-inducing sprints that have even the most seasoned players in tears with an occasional full-blown hissy fit from the coach that would make a 3-year-old proud

Another game day has arrived and yet another practice. With her team nursing nagging injuries a game day practice she pulls this again. We have been out coached in every loss this year and she lays the blame on the girls. In order to win they first have to be put in a situation where they can win.

Unfortunately, that's what you get with some HS coaches. If your AD isn't a soccer person, they'll hire the first warm body that applies. Some AD's will actually seek out true "soccer" coaches.

There are UIL rules about the amount of practice, maybe getting away with it because its a class? I don't know exact rules but know they exist we don't have that problem. Oldest DD was in band they could only march so much, but it seemed like forever!

How about the one's that tell their talented high level players to "just kick it forward" rather than to maintain possession or pass the ball in a controlled manner. Makes me want to scream.....
