Upcoming DIII Games

All right folks, I am doing my go away rain dance. Choose your favorites to win this weekend.

Mustangs v SG: Big game for SG if they want to keep in contention for top spot--should be favored but injuries are hurting them
Meja U v DFeeters: Feet win- they are attacking the net.
Sting F v Solar W: which sting team will show up? This Solar team just can't be overlooked. This is a must win game for Sting F; a tie or loss really hurts their cause making the Sting Bowl a pressure cooker game. a Sting win puts huge pressure on Sting W the next day.

DTN v Meja N: HUGE GAME! Whoever wins jumps to to fifth or better.
Flash v Solar W: this will be an entertaining game.
Sting F v Sting W: Sting Bowl! Big, big game. A Sting W loss really hurts their top 5 chances-- and force everyone to change their calculated, long term predictions.

I have a feeling this is going to come down to the last weekend to finalize who is moving on.
Mustangs going to fight hard
Sting W has dropped but will keep on fighting
Sting F can't drop anymore games
Meja great Keeper can keep them in thiere they don't give up
DTN is showing some improvement from last season has been a surprise, they need to keep them Wins up.

Remember: when looking at the standings, 4 teams have played 13 games, 6 have only played 12. Unless DTX/Meja Tie, a Sting W (played 13 gms) loss almost eliminates the possibly of any two of DTX, Meja and Sting W being in top 5. Two wins by Sting F this weekend almost ensures a top 3-5 finish.

Agreed Pack. It really is early to tell and this weekend should give us a better idea on team placement. This is still a juggling act in the middle of the pack.

Yes I think its a bit early still. Looking at the schedule I have Sting F dropping 3 and maybe 4 out of its last 6 games and that can realy hurt them. Mustangs can go 3 out of 6 as well.Sting W only loosing 1 but may be 2 of the remaining 5. Meja loosing 3 out of 5. the DTN going to be tuff for them but I see them dropping 3 out of five but they have started out good this year. Its a must win for them every game. Next 4 games are against top contenders. I like it when its this close for all the teams. that makes it more intresting over all.

Ah yes, but never underestimate the possibility and ability of spoilers! We the down (but not out) teams could very well change some games. If we can't be first, we can definitely try to throw a monkeywrench into the mix (just sayin)!

You're right, I left out SG and Feet (@ 27 & 32)-- I think those top 2 spot are pretty set and boring-- they can flip, but both those teams aren't moving out of top 2 spots... Unless... That's another topic!

Im trying to get GoGo (& dad3, you, etc) to drill down & put pts on those 3-6 spots... Having this team lose 3 of 5, that team 3 of 6, the others losing 3 of 5, etc-- they're all playing each other, so someone has a win a game! Lol.

Lastly, looking at the combined schedule show how those evil spoilers can ruin a team's day & decide who is moving up or staying put. If I were playing them, I'd be sending the chocolate to them the day before game so they aren't upset with my team!!

Ina, You may need to add more feathers to the headdress for the rain dance. The sky looks like it wants to further postpone the season.

Man and I just sent my rain dance wear to the cleaners. Guess I will have to put a rush on them. I'll start with head dress only and hopefully I can keep the fields dry enough!

Significant injury, rainout rescheduling, the fact that they are 12 year old girls...all play a significant part. My honest wish is that we were done with league in April so that we could sincerely focus on the next round rather than the odd game in mid-May...3 weeks after the rest...oh, and while I am wishing...and that we were rained out the night before on EACH of our 8 am games hit at Chinn Chapel...

Now there's some fodder!

-Wins really matter; ties are like losses. Teams will have have to be aggressive; teams will not be able to back (tie) into a top 5 spot.
-Sting W, which started the 2nd half in 3rd place, is perilously close to avoiding advancement.
-Meja-DTX game is pivotal-ironic game for STING W, as well as the participants. A tie greatly benefits sting's top 5 hopes and would be almost detrimental to Meja-DTX. A win by either team allows the opportunity for victor some margin of error to gain top 5 status.
-As mentioned earlier, the spoilers really do control destinies. Those games become must-win (no pressure) games for top 5 contenders.
-barring a complete melt down, Sting F, Mustangs appear to be in good shape.
-Shows how strong the top 2 teams are. 1/2 season played and they are almost assured a top 2 finish and appear will be strong contenders in D2.

Yeah, we should be a lot better off if we don't get hit again. We were down to ONE bench player in each of the games so far. I wasn't looking forward to Feet with NO subs...only other thing I see, is YES, Feet and SG are strong, but more that anything, just consistent. The rest NEED a run while those two already "ran."

These comments could look quite a lot different if a team can run through a couple of games this weekend (good or bad). That is the beauty of it though...SG loses to Mustangs and Feet...a whole NEW can of worms...Feet ties a couple...changes everything.
