I know for sure that two out of the three clubs provided opportunities for individual families to fundraise to offset the cost of dues (i.e. one of the clubs did concessions at AAC and you could work the concessions and have a credit for those hours applied to your DD's dues). The 3rd club might have had similar opportunities as well, but I just didn't know about them. Also, some clubs mandate that if your DD receives any kind of scholarship, that you are required to provide X number of volunteer hours to the club (field marshal at tournaments, etc.).
We've also done a couple of team-based fundraisers, but those were decided upon by the parents and coach, not the club. Funds raised from those were applied to the team account to offset things like tournament entry fees, indoor field rentals, etc.

There's a bunch of MLM guys around too. While not mandatory, some poor folks have a garage full of miracle protein powders and skin care products.
