When did Diaz beat Pulp?

I would say, when did Pulp beat Diaz?

From what I understand, it was a tie when they last played in regulation, OVER 5 MONTHS AGO!!!

Pulp won in PK's. does that count as a win?..the game before that Pulp won 1-0

Sure, it's a win. However, per BW's formula, and as it pertains to the FBR rankings, it's a tie. And, unfortunately, the 1-0 loss is no longer relevant. Results from last year are hardly an indicator. I think its best we hold off until they actually play in the present(4/19), until then, Diaz remains Número Uno.

I just wanted to answer your question about Pulp beating Diaz. You're right about Pulp not winning (yet) in April 2015!

And, to answer Lakedads question; Diaz beat Pulp 3-2 in 2014, if we want to get nitpicky. But again, it's ALL irrelevant at this point, it's 2015. "Yet", lol, good luck!!

Is that a guarantee?

From the looks of things against Rush this past Sunday, Pulp was fortunate to not have been playing Diaz. Yes, Pulp won, but anyone watching that game knows Rush convincingly controlled 80% of that game.

You have to love a parent guaranteeing a win in a 10 year old girls soccer game.  

Call it apathy or just an absolute trust in the FBR but I didn't really flinch too much at the glorious April Fool's prank that BW pulled on us.  I just figured we were early in the season and needed to see how it all played out as games were played.  The point that TSM was making still lives on.  There are teams that are falling and should keep doing so until they win a game.  Those that needed to drop a substantial drop still did in today's version.  Those that gained, should have gained as they did in today's version.

And as much as I trust that the FBR is as accurate as it comes, I really don't see how Sting Diaz is ranked above Solar Pulp right now.  If you look at the gotsoccer results for each team over the relevant period of time, Solar Pulp has the better results and more of them.  But that is just me looking at the dates.  There is no question that they are the top 2 teams.  When they play on 4/19, I think all bets are off and we are in for a good one.

Once Lady Aztecs moves up into the top 7, then the picture will be about right for the top 7.  There will be some movement amongst them each week based on weekend results but it will represent the top 7 of the 05 teams very accurately.  The rest of the top 15 will take some time to shake out and then 15-30 will be absolute chaos until late July.  I for one can't wait.

What it boils down to is that you currently have the top 4 teams that have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Sure, some teams below them are able to manage a draw against them here or there, but no one outside of those 4 teams has beaten any of those 4 teams since last November.

Those 4 teams make up Tier1 in the current version of the '05 FBR database.

As it turns out, in the 9 games Sting Diaz has in their current history, they have played 6 of those against the other Tier 1 teams. (2W-1L-3D in those games)

By comparison, Pulp has 17 games in their current history, but only 3 of those games are against the other Tier 1 teams. (1W-1L-1D in those games).

The current FBR formula was intentionally designed to reward teams that continually step up and play tough competition AND perform well in those games.

Diaz and Pulp have pretty much performed equally well in their games against Tier 1 opponents, but Diaz has played more total games against Tier 1 teams, and a higher % of their overall games against Tier 1 teams, so right now, FBR gives them a slight edge.

Personally, if I were ranking teams based on my opinion, I would probably have Pulp #1 based on the overall strength of their results so far this calendar year. However, Diaz would be a solid #2 in my opinion.

Of course, FBR does not reflect my opinion, it reflects the output of a formula based on certain criteria. Based on that, FBR currently gives a slight edge to Diaz.

Now, if all of the results for both Pulp and Diaz continue to remain relatively equal up until 4/19, then the result of that game will almost certainly dictate the FBR ranking order in the following week.

No doubt the rich get richer during the winter, but Diaz added more and I wonder if they will have enough time to gel before playing Pulp.

Ignorant Post because it's not true. Fact is we will see who is better in a few weeks. IMO Sting Black is better right now by 2 goals. JMO though!

One of my favorite Jim Carrey movies is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, where the protagonist, Joel, wants to forget his ex, Clementine, played by Kate Winslet.  The memory of her is just too painful.  As this is Sci-Fi, there's this fascinating procedure where he can do just that: forget.  Lakedad either has had this same procedure, or maybe I have, because I recall, off the top of my head, or at least I think I do, three times Diaz has beat Pulp: off the top of my head.  Are any of them recent enough to matter?  No, but two were in 2014.

And, as a footnote, who cares?

I prefer "Being John Malkovich." Imagine having a way to step into BW's mind...

Now, as you noted, Pulp/Diaz met 4 times in 2014. I will concede that in early 2014 as Pulp was deciding between having 1 or 2 - 05 teams, he put a team into a tourney that lost to Diaz in the finals. But that was a mix of girls from other teams that Chris was evaluating, not the core.

Once the final roster was decided, Diaz lost 1-0 in the King Tut, 1-0 in the Labor Day tourney and in PK's for the CFBAL Championship. All fantastic games to watch. And if you enjoy this matchup, don't miss this last one as they probably won't see each other again until LH this fall.

After every game my daughter plays, I reflect back on the game and think to myself win or lose -- "we should have won by 5 goals instead of 3" or "if only that ref didn't call that penalty or the ball had been cleared quicker we wouldn't have lost". Instead of worrying about Diaz girls "gelling", (which is odd, because there has been no change to the Diaz starting lineup), I'd be more concerned about the 17 or so girls Pulp has on his roster. With a few that gets little to no playing time. I don't understand some DD's, they'd rather have their kid play on top teams, yet they don't receive playing time. It must be for the parent that needs assurance of self worth!?! It's unfortunate for the child, as playing time is crucial for development. I believe Pulp has South before Diaz, I would suggest directing your attention towards them first, instead looking to play the NUMBER 1 TEAM. Good Luck!!

What does DD's mean in this reference?
