When is the date that players can start visiting other teams with the intention of joining another team?

Anytime with a practice release signed by the current coach.
Normally, June 1st is the date that you can practice with other teams without a release. However, with the shift to calendar year coming, NTSSA has said that this year, for current U12 and above, anytime after the conclusion of State Cup. Not sure if this date applies to current U11's since there is no U11 State Cup. Best bet is to call NTSSA directly and get clarification. My experience with NTSSA is that they are very helpful with answering those type of questions.

May 9 for U11-U18.
If you are sure that you are not returning to your current team, get a "release to rec" by April 1 and you are free to practice or guest play (release signed by NTx) with anyone who will have you - total freedom. Without this, current coach must approve guest playing with another team.

Correct with one minor clarification... You will not be able to guest play in any remaining league games this spring, only in tournaments/scrimmages/friendlies.

How about a follow up question? Has anyone gone through the process of looking for a new team and how did you go about it?
Doing this to help others out there that maybe are not happy with there current situation that may need some guidance through the process. Don't get me wrong, not trying to instigate anything, but being new to the Select process, I have found it difficult to navigate my way around and find out what I can and can't do. So knowing there's hundreds of players coming into this system each year, hopefully this will help them.

Good question. From my experience here is a common approach:
- start watching games of teams and coaches you're interested in
- reach out to the coaches of the teams you're interested in your daughter trying out for. This serves 2 proposes, one the coach can attend one of your daughters games to observe her playing and 2 gets you connected likely with the manager for updates on future practice dates and times
