Is LH going to investigate the rosters of some of these teams "leaving" their bye behind to 05s but not returning more than 2-3 05 players, if any? I think ordinarily LH would use its discretion and may downgrade such a team to DII or DIII. Perhaps all the more reason for a 20-team Supergroup next year. Seems silly for a team of essentially new players, some new to LH altogether, to hold a DI or DII spot.

Don't you have to do that with most of the age groups with all of the turnover at every level? I bet we see divisions of at least 15 again.

Quite sure everyone realizes that d3 places 7-10 are just choosing where their team is going, not where their bye is going. They do not have a bye to take anywhere. Final 4 places are already in qt for new teams coming in. With that in mind we are only awaiting responses from 3. This is probably hanging up with the club strategy, not the team placement. High profile clubs are still trying to see how the bye most benefits the club.

Yes, but at the levels above 05, the teams can, if true, at least show to LH that the new players are from a team that has gone through QT before and played at a particular level in LH. For instance, if all or most of DTS 05 are taking another team's bye in the 04 group, which appears to be the case, nobody is going to argue that team isn't worthy and should be moved down a division. The same can't be said for an entirely unestablished core of players.

Generally, I agree that LH is going to have to give some leeway on the 50% rule under this new world order. But that's different than leaving behind a bye for a brand new team that may largely be made up of new select players.

I agree unfortunately there are not enough fields to have every age group go back to qualifying.

Making everyone re-qualify is not the answer. Those girls who already went through QT, played a season, and earned a bye, shouldn't be penalized by having to go through QT again. Not to mention have to pay for it again. Plus, I'm guessing several families have already made summer plans based on LH's prior promises that teams could keep their bye down or advance up. Oh, and good luck fairly seeding that QT tournament, which will inevitably end up with some odd results. Again, I cast my vote for a 20-team supergroup to let the new and old teams figure it all out over a season.

Regardless of AP discussion, that 20 team supergroup sounds like a pretty solid idea - kill this whole D1/D2/D3 thing, go to a 20 team field and let the chips land as they may every season with bottom 5 being relegated to QT. That would bring a little more elitism back to LHGCL to boot.

Date was changed a few weeks back when they had to push the playoffs to this weekend due to rainouts...

Bye Claim Notification:
We will be releasing an electronic bye claim form to Team Coaches and Managers in the early spring. Due to Weather Reschedules the deadline for claiming your bye choice will now be May 17th at midnight CST. Those bye eligible teams that DO NOT meet the May 17th deadline will be advanced a year (Option B). You will NOT be able to change this so meeting the deadline will be very important.
