Sting Dallas 08 Parker

Sting Dallas 08 (Parker) will be training on Monday's and Wednesday's 5:15 - 6:45 at the Sting Complex beginning Monday, March 5th. The team is building for the run up to QT this summer and would love to have anyone interested come on out.

I've never had a dd on a Sting team and know nothing of this situation. However, I sure would take most of the playlikeagirl and Soccermomintx (who "both" joined the board today) feedback with a whole lot of salt.

I just found out about this board, but I am close enough to the situation to stand behind my opinions.

Not sure what to tell you, or how I benefit by lying about it. But it’s Interesting that my credibility would have a direct connection to the length of time I have been on a public site where no one uses their real names. I read the emails relating to this situation and the Technical Directors move out of state.

Lots of good stuff floating on the forum outside the normal pay to play propaganda.

I'm gonna admit, I'm a total lurker! (I had a username years ago, but do to inactivity, its been deactivated).  The only reason I'm back is a close friend said I should take look, and I can see things haven't changed a bit.  The trolls are still here, armed with their multiple usernames, intimate "closeness to the situation" and "from what I heard..."s.

What I can tell you is Rick Parker is an excellent soccer coach.  He builds his players and teams up from the inside.  That is the experience of my DD.  

As for baggage, It is my experience that 9-10 year old girls don't carry much onto the field...their parents on the other hand!  It sounds to me like someone(s) trying to sabotage a team, either out of jealousy or inferiority, just say'in.  Let the girls play.  Let them learn and grow. To many helicopter parents on the sidelines these days with no clue how to coach girls soccer, and add to that, petty coaches trying to push an agenda, I'm sure we've all seen it.  Parker, can stand by his record, and I assume that's why he's was tapped for this duty.

We have a friend of a friend on that team. The story I got was 4 or 5 girls wanted to make a move but got bullied and pressured into staying by the Manager, her loud husband, and 2 other sets of parents. wrote:

You jumped on and wrote a book. I’m thinking you are a coach. Probably Ricks good friend or someone in the Sting office trying to minimize the drama.

I don’t remember anyone saying anything about Parker as a coach... and ABSOLUTLY the parents are the problem. Kids have a better outlook then adults. Drama starts and ends with adults.

I think the assumptions and statements all make sense, but I feel for the 08G on that team who have to go through this mess.

I hear Weigelt was a great coach and she will fine her way to another club and have a great team but maybe she wasn't good for sting. Good luck to the new coach and his team.
