I agree that's the problem and I've been guilty myself before for just going along, this guy has just set me off because it's a whole new level of deception. Now he has lowered the dues by $500, almost like, oops you caught me. Two people have already left and a bunch have called the club to complain. Does anyone know when the contract goes into effect? It seems like you have until the end of July, even if you wrote a check to back out. The classic is I can't even get an answer as to who has my check.
Stop payment on it if it has not been cashed and you will figure out pretty quick who has it.

goes into effect when signed and submitted.
if everyone had until the end of July, half of the teams would implode.

Nice thought, but no one in the youth soccer industry cares.
It is not in any of their best interests to care, or to take on the headache and cost of trying to fix it at this point in time. No downside to them of it operating the way it is.
Simple Cost Benefit issue.

The team Fee Sheet should have been provided to all players/parents prior to them having to sign. If these "Team Dues" were not listed on that fee sheet...then I would think the contract could be deemed void. But, I really don't have a clue so...

Re: Are Team dues new?
The same coach CPPd multiple ECNL starters to play the entire LH D1 game while regular D1 players watched from the bench. What do you think is going to happen when he finds out you were here airing his dirty laundry?

Re: Are Team dues new?
worse case: check has cleared and team roster has been registered with the appropriate governing body
the worst case likely materializes this week, early if team is entering qualifiers

Dig an inch deep and they could blow the lid off club soccer.

Should not be too hard to figure out the names of the potential culprits if anyone cares.
From there it would only take about 24hrs for parents/managers to identify the innocent ones and you have your name.

Re: Are Team dues new?
Apparently in State Cup this spring, the coach wasn't aware of the roster limitations. Showed up with too many on the bench after bringing in his ECNL players. Had 2 paying D1 players take off their jerseys and sit behind the bench during the game.
Tried for an interview after the game but he ran off. Muttered something about being headed to a mission trip.

I can give you some more info. As I said, we've been around a while so my radar is definitely on but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.
It's a LH team so there is no extraordinary travel. The coach trains two teams together, about 40 kids so you would assume his time is being very well compensated. The first I saw these costs was at signing, no discussion before. It seems like the costs were sprung out at the last possible time.
Does he train all those kids by himself?

As soon as the check is cashed - the exchange of funds executes the contract...

If the rumor mill is correct (which it always is right?), the DOC has been notified but I don't think it's gone to NTX yet.

Highly doubt if NTX will do anything in this case, except maybe allow releases to parents who want out before the season starts if the club refuses to grant them.
