FCD v Solar

Been a while, and it rarely disappoints. Every game has at least one legitimate natty hopeful and a half dozen YNT candidates.

My Predictions:

08...Solar 2-1
07...Solar 3-1
06...2-2 tie
05...FCD 2-1
04...1-1 tie
03...Solar 3-0

Not quite sure what to expect yet for some of the Solar teams, as this will be their first tough test of the season after getting through the Oklahoma portion of the schedule along with Texans and the Central Texas teams. FCD is a bit more battle tested so far this season. Thoughts on any specific games?

As far as 03's go, I'll say 13-1, Solar. My reasoning is that we (TSC 03) beat FCD 4-3, and Solar kicked our @SS 12 to 1 the first game, so 13-1. Just a WAG based on a tiny bit of data.

The last minute Michigan and Playup additions to the Solar 06 team certainly ruffled a lot of feathers, but winning smooths over most problems, and they've definitely been winning. Speaking of drama, the thing to watch in the game this weekend is whether the new FCD pickups (who have been quite impactful so far this season) can exact revenge on their former club.

06 Talk! Age group seems to be a forgotten stepchild around here.

Some unhappiness on both the FCD and Solar 06 teams, for sure. The late additions to both rosters were apparently surprises to many and came in with some "strong" personalities and families. It would not surprise me if one of those teams won the U15 natty this year, though. Very talented teams, and I think this one is a coinflip.

In my opinion, Solar 03s are heavily favored and Solar are solid favorites in the 04, 07, and 08 age groups. FCD heavily favored in the 05 age group.

FCD had the better of things in the January matchup. My hunch is Solar flips the script this weekend.

I'm sure this isn't just to win games but is for the development of all the paying local players. Rolling Eyes

Parents will still take their little Mia's to the next ECNL cattle call/tryout by the hundreds cause they want to win. Winning from the bench while jet setting players do the heavy lifting must be ok with some. To each their own.

Check the ecnl schedule for Michigan teams... Democratic Party governor and the state is still in some level of lockdown it appears so nothing better to do. There are others from California Driving to Phoenix or flying in to play with varied teams in Texas and other states to get some games in etc while their areas figure out how to get back to it.
