Relegation for 01 D1 a tight race
Page 1 of 2 • 1, 2
Who is going to be in D2 next year
Relegation for 01 D1 a tight race
Andro 10 pts, opponents left Solar Red, Texans - wins tie with Monte and TRN
Monte 10 pts, opponents left FCD, Texans - Loses all ties
Feet 9 pts, TFC, TRN - wins tie with Andro and Monte, still has to play TRN
TRN 8 pts, Sting, Kicks, and Feet - wins tie with Monte, Loses to Andro, plays Feet
If any of the teams win a game, I think that gets them in - it is that close.

Andro (10 pts) seems to have an edge with the goals allowed tie breaker with Monte (10pts) (that is the first tie breaker after head to head). Both Feet(9) and TRN ( are in striking distance with one win and they play each other. Feet or TRN own the head to head tiebreaker with Monte in the standings.

Head to head is the only tie breaker when it comes to promotion or relegation.
If head to head is even, a playoff game is scheduled according to the LHGCL rules.

Re: Relegation for 01 D1 a tight race
Andro 13pts - Win or Tie in. Loss with Monte loss or tie and in.
Feet 12pts - Win or tie and in due to tiebreakers over Monte and Andro. Loss with Monte loss in.
Monte 10pts - Win with Feet loss and in. Tie or loss out.
Hollis 8pts - Officially Out
There could be a three way tie for 7/8th with a Andro loss (Texans), Feet tie (Hollis) and a Monte win (Grubb) which would result in Feet going via tiebreaker on both and a single game playoff between Andro and Monte.
Anyone see the scenerios differently?

01 DI predictions
I think DT North- Hollis and Solar- Monty are going to be relegated to D2.
and
D2 team being promoted??? DT FW - Arthur Silva- ??? Might be Kicks.
D2- 2 teams relegated to D3- of course FCDallas- Aaron Pratt- they never belonged there in the first place LHGCL- needs to change that rule... we need the N+1 back or something better. and 2nd team- Sting G. or Liverpool - Aaron Duca
D3- Diamonds moving up to D2-!!!!!!
5 teams having to requalify anyones guess they are all so close in points.

I for one, never expected Monte to drop to 9th. From playing as good as anyone at the end of U11 to the bottom of D1 after a year of u12. So much talent there, going to D2 has got to be a major disappointment. I hope they can come out and take down Grubb and get some help from Robby's buddy JH. Stranger things have happened, they did beat SR last summer - so they have it in them.

If only they're own team would have taken care of they're own opponenets. I am pretty sure their was several chances for them to get the ball in to there opponents goal throughout they're season. I always tell me DD, your alwatss going to want to be in control of you're own destiny.

Theirs just no reprieve from there this week. I'm starting to think they're is a conspiracy.
Truth be told, the teams relegated to D2 have likely been done a favor... assuming they survive the fallout. Hanging on for dear life game after game is not an ideal way for 11/12 year olds to enjoy soccer.

No doubt about that. And fortunately the race for D3 is over thanks to FWFC.

How do you figure?
I do see that they are another team that had a much better showing the second half of the season.

What he means is that since FWFC beat Sting Gutierrez today, Gutierrez and FC Dallas are now guaranteed to finish in 9th & 10th place in D2, and will thus be relegated to D3 for U13. Had Sting G beat FWFC today, Liverpool Rush would have needed to get a win against DT FTW on 5/11 to avoid D3 relegation, in a game that DT FTW will be taking VERY seriously, as DT FTW needs a win in that game to either assure themselves of a D1 promotion, or at least a playoff with Kicks Gold for D1 promotion.
I don't think there was any knock on FWFC intended or even implied.

Thanks! No affiliation with these teams - just was figuring how FWFC had an impact on the race for D1 per Sweeper's post - which I didn't read as a knock at all - no problem. Good luck to DTFW - I thought Kicks had it in the bag until a few weeks ago.

In the end if DTFTW & KICKS both win then they go to tie breaker...... for advancement. Someone remind me the tie breaker rules...

Exactly! I was thanking them for the help since we didn't control our own destiny.
I will say both FWFC and Sting East Gray have had great second half seasons, not only in LH but in tournament play as well. They should be very pleased with their progress.
D2 next year is going to be ridiculously competitive.

Relegation
As a father of a D3 player, I can say with confidence that there are D3 teams who have been competitive with, or even successful against, D1 & D2 teams in tournaments over the past six months.
Not really butthurt by the "relegation" references I've seen in this thread. Just needing to highlight the fact that good soccer is played in D3.

Very true. The reality is that after the top 5-7 teams in 01, the qualitative gap between teams isn't nearly as great and on any given day upsets can and do happen. As a result, the D1/D2/D3 breaks are somewhat arbitrary.

I'm sure there will be a lot of DTFW parents keeping an eye on the field next to them cheering on TSN. This game should be a good match. TSN is guaranteed 3rd place regardless and has the opportunity to knock off Kick's hope of D1 as long as DTFW takes care of business.
A DTFW/Kicks playoff is also a very exciting scenario.
