Girls are very aggressive and play to win.

I'm sure there will be a lot of DTFW parents keeping an eye on the field next to them cheering on TSN. Shocked This game should be a good match. TSN is guaranteed 3rd place regardless and has the opportunity to knock off Kick's hope of D1 as long as DTFW takes care of business.

A DTFW/Kicks playoff is also a very exciting scenario.

I don't think there was any knock on FWFC intended or even implied.

Thanks! No affiliation with these teams - just was figuring how FWFC had an impact on the race for D1 per Sweeper's post - which I didn't read as a knock at all - no problem. Good luck to DTFW - I thought Kicks had it in the bag until a few weeks ago.

In the end if DTFTW & KICKS both win then they go to tie breaker...... for advancement. Someone remind me the tie breaker rules...

Straight from the LHGCL Rules...

Ties Between Teams to Determine a Bye:
For all ages, points earned in head-to-head play over the entire soccer year
will apply. Playoff games will be played between any teams who cannot be
eliminated in the head-to-head tiebreaker. The number of games and nature of
the playoff will be determined by the LHGCL board. Playoff games must
have a winner, i.e., if the game ends in a tie, two 10 minute overtimes will be
played, then if still tied, FIFA kicks from the penalty mark will be taken to
determine the winner.

b. Teams Tied in Division Champion Points in Division II:
(1) If there is a tie in Division Champion points that will affect which
team gets promoted to Division I and/or relegated to Division III, only
head-to-head competition will be used to break the tie. If two teams
are tied in head-to-head competition, a playoff game will be played
between the two teams to determine who has earned the right to be
promoted into Division I or who has to be relegated into Division III.

DT FTW beat KG 1-0 in the fall. KG beat DT FTW 1-0 in the spring. So... if both teams have the same game result on 5/11, according to the rules, they will go to a playoff game, which could possibly even end up in PK's determining who gets promoted to D1 for U13... affraid affraid affraid

Your team could be a big factor too Sweeper. I hope both KG and Texans FW both win. They deserve a playoff as the clear top two teams in D2. The winner going to D1 will likely have a long year. It's great to be promoted but a big time challenge for the parents more than the kids.

Couldn't agree more. Such a fitting end to a great season by both teams. You hate for there to be a loser.

Possibly. For your sake, hopefully, we will convert our scoring chances better against DTFW than we have the last couple weeks.

Should be an interesting morning. A playoff would be very exciting. Makes me think about the excitement of State Cup semis and finals last year.

Perhaps .... but given the performance of both these teams against D1 competition ( and likelyhood of picking up a bit more talent), it might be the present D1 team parents that could be in for a tougher year.
Oh... the horror!
The prospect of losing to a recently promoted team becomes a reality ...
Shocked

Relegation for 01 D1 a tight race - Page 2 Empty ALL U12 D2/D3 Games are are UTD this Saturday

Post by Guest 06/05/13, 04:30 pm

I just noticed that all of the U12 D2/D3 games for this Saturday (5/11) are now scheduled for UTD. I know that up until recently, our game was scheduled for Railroad, and I think most/all of the others were scheduled for RR as well.

I'm hoping that LHGCL sent an e-mail to all of the affected coaches/managers making them aware of the change, but figured I post here just in case it slipped through the cracks.
