Soccer Po Boy wrote:Maybe someone can shed some light on the whole Dallas Texans Scott- Deleon dynamic for me. They had 3 teams during the SDL season. DT Scott, Scott-Deleon City 1 and 2. And let me say everytime I saw them play, there were plenty of kids in the bench. And I know Scott was taking care of the '03s in Primetime this weekend, but are there not enough girls from the other two to field a team? We know one of the "mystery" players was from Da Sting East, where were the others from? I know I've said it before, but there is something odd going on over in Texans land. Shady Shady Shady

Ok, here you go again with bringing Scott into the mix, surprised it took you this long within this thread. So, Coach Scott has a complete '04 team, with the same girls from the first day of the first SDL game this spring. There are 15 players on team. There are also 2 players, of those 15, who on occaission, will play with other DT teams. This doesn't affect the rest of the Scott team. Scott's practices are typically independent, with the exception of a few skill practices where a few teams, including '03s, practice together. What else do you need to know abotu Scott's '04 team Question

And what do you mean Scott was taking care of the '03s this weekend? Yes, DT Scott '04 played up with the '03s last weekend, BUT with all '04 players. Not sure what you are referring to. care to elaborate

Why are Scott players going to LP practices if all is so good over there?

????Scott players out at LP practices? Well hell maybe we can move some of the "guest" out of our practices to make room for the Scott girls. Haven't seen them out at RASE yet.

Ok, I have been sucked in. Saying girls are going to be cheaters is a little out of line. The team was trying to oblige the refs request of getting rid of duplicate #'s by a girl trading with another girl that was not playing in the game (at that moment). No cheating was committed by the Texans, and to say that, is well, at least far fetched. People cannot seem to wrap their head around how this works. If I wanted to put a team together of the best 04's in the nation (srfc, duh) to enter an ACADEMY tournament I could. As long as they are 04's and I put their name on the roster. It's not that hard people. Now the problem lies when I ask that awesome goalie her name, and she says "Brandi"' and I write down Mandy, that is a problem. A rule was broken, and should suffer the consequences. Stupid, yes. Dumb, yes. Cheating, absolutely not. The same 04's that started the tournament, finished the tournament, well tried. 4 were told to sit because the name was wrong. Unethical. That's you're opinion. Summertime tournaments are an opportunity to play as much as you can, which is what my daughter was doing. Insinuating she or I is a cheater, nothing could be farther from the truth. Not even going to get into the ugliness of what went on there. Just going to say that primal urges are very strong, and when you do not develop the mental fortitude to overpower those, bad stuff usually happens. I really don't care if the ones throwing the "cheater" word around get my point of view at all. Just want the other rash, in touch with reality people to see it. Definitely the ugly side of highly competitive sports, and usually ones with the gloves off and insulting, never were a part of it growing up. If you want a team specific tournament, start your own. Or change the rules of academy soccer. But do not take away from what the girls did by calling them cheaters or their coach a cheater. He may have cheated in the past, I don't have a clue. I know my daughter got better and won a tournament playing for him. Can he spell? Or remember names? Doesn't look like it. Be glad your daughters played top competition, mine did, and enjoyed it, well right up until she didn't get a medal. But recovered nicely, and I couldn't have been prouder when she said, "but we played great and I had fun." Also asked "is that lady is so mad because she lost?" Another proud moment. Now back to another tournament on a different team. Now is your "team going to get better by sticking together and same core of girls playing together all the time, definitely. But if that is your choice, don't get mad when the other team did not, which is not against the rules. My daughter does this with her team and they have gotten better. When we play a tournament with her core team, and we play a Liverpool team that is a combo of 2 or three teams we have played in the past, we look forward to the competition, and get better. I have taught my daughter play with a passion. And even if you lose, at the end of the game, that other team better feel lucky for getting out of there with a win.
Gonna have to find a different way to cheat now. They're onto us. Now, come on kids, all together.....y'all say cheater cheater pumpkin eater......we'll say we won, we won, we shot the BB gun.....

Your excuses make as much sense as the woman who told the policeman "i accidentally shot him.....four times" like the four kids whose name you claim were written down wrong....CHEATERS

So this whole controversy comes down to 4 typos? There were 13 on the roster but 4 names were misspelled? Brandi instead of Mandy? Sally instead of Calli? Tatonka instead of Badonka Donk? That should have been stated from the beginning instead of attacking the Sting coach and the parents.

You said it yourself, follow the rules. Get a roster in with the correct names on it. If you don't do that, you open yourself up to cheating allegations.

Not even going to get into the ugliness of what went on there. sadly I've heard a handful of coaches say "they don't check the rosters anyway." looks like a case of the ohcrapigotcaughtthistime. barry bonds did not knowingly take steroids. bill clinton did not inhale.

Wait breaking news. There was top competition in this tournament? Shocked

but on a serious note the roster is there for a reason and its not hard to fill out. 1 mistake on spelling maybe, 4 starts to look funny. Did he stack a team to win a tournament? It's Deleone, he can't stack a team. Seems more likely he wasn't sure who he could get and filled the roster with enough names thinking it would be okay.
