96 College Station Games

Hey Zygor, are you ready for a cold game Saturday morning? It looks like we both have a very long break before the second that night.

I believe Solar Red is the only other North Texas team going.

Actually, my wife and daughter are carpooling with some others on the team for the Final IV in College Station. I wish I could be there, but I'll have to settle for watching UT in the Big 12 title game in a warm house.

I was really hoping to watch the Solar Red vs. Lonestar Red game since I missed the loss in Premier League this fall. Then they changed the schedules and changed us to a night game against a 95 team. Yuk!

Have a safe trip down to the Final IV and stay warm. We have an 80% chance of snow in Austin Friday night. That doesn't happen much down here.

WTF is up with that schedule. I was breezing through not paying much attention until I saw those times! The Feet coach must of had some serious conflicts to play two games on one day nearly 12 hours apart and then the next that early. Good Luck

Ahhh...yeah. We're pretty excited about the schedule.
Arriving at the field before sunrise both mornings and playing the last game of the night.

If it was summertime, maybe not so bad. With snow on the ground, not so good. Maybe we should redefine "Friendly."

For the record, HB has simultaneous games scheduled for Sat, 8am at different complexes.

LS 96 Red had one guest player while one of their players played with LS 96 White. Not much impact.
They apparently had a guest coach the whole time too.

D'feeters had at least one that I saw...just wondering if those players make an impact or if they are just there as "backup"??

D'Feeters did have one guest player that was invited to play. This was not a backup role but an opportunity of for our girls and she to play together.

Does anyone know how Solar Red's games turned out over the weekend? I never heard anything about their games.

One says backup and one says play together...think i'll go with the one with more posts ...

This is just what the '96 forum needs is a good 'guess' player controversy!!

Unfortunately I don't think there's any controversy to be had. I believe it's just a very good PPL player checking out a top LHGCL D1 team and vice versa.

IMO, there are very few girls that can guest for a reasonably solid D1 team and instantly make an impact. I'd suggest that it's the combination of additions (or deletions) that make an impact on a team and even so it's generally not immediately visible. At this phase it's more a question of whether the player is a good fit for the team (and vice versa) going forward. Even though we're already at the halfway point how many transplanted D1 players (individually) can we say have made an "impact" on their new teams this year?

FYI, our guest showed very well and we liked her and her parents very much.

"txsoccermom" based on previouis posts, I gather your dd plays in 96 PPL, as does the player who guested with us. You menionted that you "saw" at least one guest for Feet, so I'm assuming you were in College Station. Did you come to watch our guest or did your dd guest for someone over the weekend?

We were just watching...have friends down there and went out to watch a few games...dd enjoys the game and likes to see some good games
