DIGC SCHEDULES ARE UP Empty Re: DIGC SCHEDULES ARE UP

Hmmm. I know this probably a silly question, with a simple answer, but does anyone know what type of formula was used in determining brackets?

Sorry, I didn't realize this was on the open forum...thought we were in our little 00 niche. The following is dealing with the 00 group.

I read the press clippings that the Mexican team in SGs bracket has 4 U15 National team players. That is pretty cool. Are there any US club teams with 4?  Does North Texas have that many? Prepping for some "advanced development". Lol.

Looking forward to the event. A little odd that SG has DTN and Sting Parker...will be tough for us.

Group B looks ridiculously brutal. Think the brackets will change??

Brackets look good to me. They spread out the international and out of state teams. Nothing jumps out and screams home cooking.

The team from Columbia will be interesting to watch. It is a mixture of birth year 02'-00's and the keeper is a 99'. I think if there is a position in the field that can affect an outcome a solid, older keeper would be one. Glad Feet will be able to play them, we'e missed on playing the international teams in the past.

I agree. There could be little tweaks here and there, but there isn't a way that will satisfy everyone. There are little things...like putting all D1 teams in a bracket with no D2 or D3 teams...and multiple D2, D3s in others, but overall, no biggie. Relatively serpentine at first glance, and that is the most fair way IMO. Then altered for clubs with multiple teams. All the "foreign" teams (even CT and OK) divided into spearate brackets...if they are good and you are good, may get one in second round...OR...schedule a friendly on the Saturday...cool and scaled evenly either way.

Seems fairly evenly distributed in the 00's. There's only one D3 team, so it's not like they had any to distribute among the other brackets and there are only three D2 teams. They probably viewed the lowest league ranked D2 team as being akin to a top D3 team and the lowest league ranked D1 team as being akin to a top D2 team in their seeding methodology. For example in Flight E you have the #2 teams from LH D1, 2 & 3 plus an out of towner. In Flight D you have the #1 D1/D2 teams, the lowest league ranked of the D2 entrants, and an out of towner...etc. Without checking further, I will make the assumption that the two out of town/country teams in D&E are probably akin to an ECNL level team which would balance out with the ECNL entrants in the other three flights. So I guess that's just like serpentine, right? Smile
