Is there rib or chest protection for keepers with all the high speed collisions and kicks to the chest we are having is there something they can wear for when they go to the ground on those one v ones or the just take hard shot to the chest that will protect that area without limiting mobility

Check out the Storelli product line for keepers. My daughter wears the shin guard protector.

If this is an issue...she is not a keeper.

There are numerous shirts on the market. They have a thin layer of padding in various places to protect elbows, ribs and shoulders.

Brazuca You are an idiot. I have seen the shirts but they are thin and expensive. Is there something like football Qbs wear Ie rib protectors. This has happened to her a few times where she is kick hard in the chest and her sternum and ribs will hurt for a while.

No I do believe there is anything designed along those lines. It would be to bulky and limit range of motion mobility. IMO.

I was thinking of something to wear until the ribs and sternum healed a bruised sternum or ribs can hurt for a while and Qbs in football wear them while their chest heal. We may try a Qb rib protector and see and will let yall know

All kidding aside GGoat... like Cleansheets, my DD is a keeper. DD has never had a particular problem with that area of her body, so it's not something we've ever had to worry about. I also know that DD's GK training over the years has focused on protecting the body while making saves (i.e. "hedge-hogging"). Have never seen nor heard of a jersey or particular piece of protective gear for GK's to protect the chest/torso, but am by no means an expert in that area. Our focus has been on protecting head, elbows, fingers, hips, knees, shins, and there's gear out there for those. I would imagine that anything to protect that area of the body would have to be soft and pliable (i.e. rigid plastic may be considered a safety issue). Good luck in finding what you are looking for.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if this is a common occurrence something isn't quite right. Collisions will occur without a doubt, but if you are seriously looking for rib and sternum protection there is more to this story.

You might try the football shirts made by Under Armour or Nike's Pro Combat ones. They have padding in the shoulders, ribs and back. They do not restrict movement.

O.K.  Mrs. Gophers (who is far more helpful that I usually am), just informed me that Dick's carries an Under Armour product that is designed primarily for baseball/softball pitchers that has padding built into the chest area (basically to protect from impact of hard line drives hit back through the box).  You may want to check that out.

Mrs. Gophers would tell you that Adidas makes a really good line of padded sliding shorts (keeper DD uses them religiously and they help protect against bruising on her hips BIG TIME).

Mr. Gophers would tell you that universities are starting to offer scholly's for competitive gaming...
