What ever happened to the talks of NTX going age pure at some point? Does anyone know if this will happen or not?

That is a Gordian knot that should rank at the bottom of priorities for LHGCL to tackle. Benefits as many as it disrupts.
Every single team would have to be reorganized. The turmoil would cause clubs to set their collective heads of hair on fire.
Ultimately they will play with their classmates in HS so I don't see the benefits that outweigh the downsides...

In the end, guess most peoples point of view depends on where their DD's birthday falls.
There are plenty of examples of girls playing 'below their grade' because of where their birthday falls, but not many examples of girls playing 'above their grade' though there are a few out there.
Most people want their DD to have the age advantage, but if they are concerned about her development, they can always have her play up.

No, but will be. It's been on their FAQs for years that calendar year is their preference. All this should make that happen for them in the future.

Well, that's about when the 06s will be ECNL age unless ECNL goes younger.

Agreed. I would hope NTSSA lifts the restriction on U10's playing select the first year. At least for the the first few age groups that will be impacted.

Ok, I got it, you could keep a whole team together, but you have to then establish yourself as a 05 team, as opposed to an 06 team... so every team could have 1/1/05-7/31/06 players.... is this exception only limited to one age group, or are they going to officially allow playing up all the way through qualifying now for players? Any news on that?

Yes. This is going to affect every team at every age. Previous speculation that it would start with the '06s or '07s with older groups grandfathered in was apparently off base. Every age group from U8 to U18 goes calendar year in 2017.
To answer your question, as always, a player can play up an age group. But i assume most early year birthdays will pay age true and be more dominant than play up a year with their "current team."

Dont know if the rules allowing playups for first year of select will change or not. My assumption is that it will just to allow teams to stay together if they so choose, but i am fairly sure we are to early in the process for that determination to be made.

Source is USSF approved it July 5th. There is a source document circulating. NTSSA has spoken to some at the clubs I am hearing but trying to figure out implementation before officially announcing.

Interesting that USSF feels U8 players are still developing "basic motor skills such as walking, running and changing direction."
It's in line with the National coaching license courses currently being taught. While I'm all in favor of the move to 9v9, I think the premise that they use to build the standards does not give enough credit to what kids are capable of doing. With and without a ball.
Most 7 and 8 yr olds have figured out that walking thing.
