96-July 1st is upon us.

It has been really quiet in our forum. I know I keeping hearing a lot of rumors but nothing in stone. It sounds like a lot of transitioning has taken place just in the last 5 days. How crazy is that??
Has the dust settled in D1?

I am ready for July 2. Need some normalcy then we can begin to focus on getting ready for another fun year.

I'm thinking Feet & Solar Red probably made out the best in the free agent market. Look for them to take the 96 age group by storm.
Feet = steady and controlled.
Solar Red = fast and furious.
I like watching either play soccer.

What do you mean "has the dust settled?" I thought tryouts start tomorrow.

Rumor has it, the "red" grass was not as green as some on the "blue" side had hoped

Did I hear correctly that your dd is coming over the Solar 96?? That's GREAT news 96Guru!

Come on Socrocks what are your exit polls telling you?

As I suggested before, Sting had a great haul. As if they needed any help. Lots of talent on 1 team. It will be interesting to see how it all falls in place. But IMO they've created a gap vs. the field.

Texans...6 new kids (I think). They lost some good ones and gained some good ones. But overall, I think they improved. A challenge to integrate that many new kids, though. It may be a while before they gel.

Solar...avoiding the predicted problems was big for them. New coach, new life. Kept players they wanted to keep. I'd say a neutral draft which is pretty good considering what was being rumored.

FC Dallas...I think they were the sleeper. IMO, they strengthened an already competitive team and will be the under-the-radar team to watch this year. Top 4 is tangible for them.

Solar Red....did lose 1 key player but not sure how they filled in. I wouldn't say they had a steller draft, but I don't know enough about their adds to say that they didn't get some kids that can help. Interested to see how the keeper situation evolves.

Shhhhh. I wont announce that until later today. With all of the swapping between Texans and Sting, I didnt want to anyone to one up me! I want all of the attention! Me Me Me!!!
i am still not convinced that we know all of the transactions taking place between blue and red.

From what I've heard I'd say Feet is about in the same boat as Solar, ie a relatively neutral draft.

I agree with Gunners. We didn't see the amount of changes that many teams did.

I dont know that I would call ours neutral. Our roster went from 16 to 18 and our additions are good players.

True enough "rooty tooty fresh and fruity." My comment was aimed more at the fact that Feet didn't experience nearly the turnover that the other teams did (more specifically Sting and Texans). So I think it's fair to say that we're basically playing with the same team as last year with some new faces to integrate. No major changes.
