FBR 08G February 28th, 2017 Empty FBR 08G February 28th, 2017

Post by FBR08G 27/02/17, 06:51 pm

Current Rankings ONLY include game results from 10/28/2016 through Present Date.  The goal moving forward is to have a minimum of 4 months of data.  Games recorded as W-L-T.  Only full sided outdoor games played in 08 divisions against 08s will count for rankings.  Results from playing in development leagues are not be considered.  ALL OTHER TEAMS WILL BE INCLUDED.

FBR08G is publishing these rankings and maintaining the data.  The criteria and formulas are all 100% the same as BWG's rankings in prior age groups.  Games from development leagues will not be included in the rankings.  Games won in extra time will be recorded as a win and not a tie.

The data has been collected for this age group for over 2 years and have consulted with BW Gophers for tiers and weights and general review of data.  The goal of this FBR is to provide a data driven unbiased look at the teams as they relate to each other.

Please keep in mind that this is a body of work that is published.  Because team A beat team B last week does not automatically mean team A is ranked higher than team B.  New games carry the same weight as old games.

If your team is not included you can pm me and let me know where they are playing. Minimum of 3 games against 08 teams to be included in the rankings. If your win/loss record does not look correct please refer to your got soccer account.  If scores are missing you can pm or email them to me.  These may not be updated yet.  Timely reporting of games scores to your respective leagues will provide the best data possible.

*Note Solar Lanier/Richie have two teams registered in two different leagues.  The Solar Lanier got soccer account is registered with the 2008 9v9 league and those games will be associated with that account.  The Solar Richie team is registered gold 08 7v7 and those games will be associated to that got soccer account.

If your team has changed clubs or coaches please pm me the updates so I can reflect this accurately.

Please pm me if your listed team no longer exists or has changed clubs/names. If you believe there is an error please pm me.

You guys will show up next week. One of your scores from the first two weeks was missing and updated this weekend as well as the game on Sunday. I am showing 4 games now for your team.

Not a lot of the top coaches in this age group. Might be a dead year for development.

It happens every so many years. If you have an 08 either play up or move her to volleyball.

Because the coaches in all the other age groups have done so well with development.
Its obvious by all of the NTX kids on the national teams.

Bohannon is a good coach
Covey has been great for my DD
Jessie Llamas is a good coach
Scarfone seems to develop good teams

I have a 00 playing in the 99 age group and I do realize that some of the coach's names in the 08 group may not be the household names from the older girls , but I am seeing some good stuff being taught to the 08s.

I second Seven's opinion. Just because things aren't "name brand" doesn't mean they are lacking in any way. I've witnessed 08 abilities and styles of play that are far beyond what I've seen the now older age groups do at this age.

Maybe Foxy just wants all of the competition to move up or out to improve her DD team's status...?

Could you point out the 08 group that is "far beyond" all the preceding age groups? I'd be interested to see for myself. I can think of some pretty good groups that have come through.

LOL... Far beyond 03 SRSA, 04 RASE, 06 Kicks(pre AP), heck even 07 Solar/Kicks(post AP)....

OK, sure.  Don't see these teams playing up in Gold/Plat.  If they FAR Beyond, surely they can do better than the occasional Silver bracket of tourney play.

I guess I don't understand your comment.....
Far beyond 03 SRSA, 04 RASE, 06 Kicks(pre AP), heck even 07 Solar/Kicks(post AP)....

If you are saying that the above teams would beat the top 08 teams....well I would hope so. Those girls are much older...... Very Happy

The quote I included had "at this age".  Please learn to read.  Obviously an 08 team isnt going to beat an 03/04/ now 05 team.  Top teams beat many teams a year up so certainly possible if the 08s are as good as you claim, for them to  beat the 07s.

If the 08s are, today,  'far beyond' what the 07s were 12 months ago, surely, since they were and are so far ahead, the 07s wouldnt be able to beat them today.  Unless the 07s suddenly learned to play the game as well as the 08s in the last 12 months.  Is that your story?

Ok first I did not say that the 08's are the best age group ever. I did not even say that they are 'far beyond" any other age group. The intent of my post was to dispute the earlier statement by another poster. Her comment put forth the idea that because there are no "big name " coaching names showing up in the FBR....that directly correlated to mean the  08 age group is a down year.
I think you may be the one with the reading comprehension problem.

I think the 08's will be just fine. No better or probably not any worse than any other age group to come through North Texas in the last 10 years.
If anything, I think for the 08's and younger, development will be hindered and stunted due overreach and mishandling by ECNL , DA, JDL, and US Soccer.

Holy cow...didn't want anyone to get offended by my generalized comment. Maybe my frame of reference is biased...never watched SRSA, or RASE. I've only heard they are good, and I'll take your word for it. But, as a whole, those teams are also outliers. I also never made a direct comparison of any 08 team to any of those teams, because at this point I don't know if there are any of those outlier teams. The goodness I have seen has been spread out amongst a lot of teams as a whole. I've seen a lot more skills (moves & possession) out of this group as a whole than I have out of some of the older groups. That being said, I fully recognize that my body of little girls soccer knowledge is no where near that of some other members of this forum; and that this is just my friendly, pseudo-informed observation.
