I guess the separation would present maybe a clear cut defacto #2 to face RASE for the defacto #1 crown?

True.  All you need FBR for, is to give you a likeness of which tournaments to enter to avoid top teams (in general).  Just my take

I do hope so. I hope it's the Texan Scotties or Dalglish. And the reason why is that it is better for my DD. But also because I like those 2 teams

Scotties need something...not sure what it is...but they def have the size and athleticism...

yes they need something. I am also not sure what it is. But they will have to learn to play under the pressure of expectation.

Unless they were a couple of the top RASE players, which they likely weren't (not saying they aren't good players, I'm sure they are), there probably shouldn't be too much emphasis placed on it. I would so that the top x players are elite, but the others are simply holding a spot because others players are choosing to remain with their current clubs. I saw several elite level players in action this weekend.

Except for the ability for RASE to play a more competitive team that has separated rest of the pack one time next year during LH, why would you want separation? IMO, the parity is what is making all these teams play better. It is very difficult to predict which team will win one game to the next. Plus, it is fun to watch. I can understand why looking through RASE optics would want the best talent from these teams to consolidate and be more competitive to RASE, but after that then what?

Personally I don't care whether or not RASE plays '04 Classic, but I have a hard time seeing what they gain out of it. Anyone with any sense knows that they are the best team. If my dd's team makes D1, I'm not particularly looking forward to the beat down, but dd will play them and hopefully get something out of it. I know the RASE think tank are probably looking at options. Qualifying for '03 was already dismissed as there probably isn't much to gain in D3 over playing the top '04s. Can they qualify even further up, say with the '02's. If so, do they think they can, or is it too risky. That's a tough spot to be in. Solar was in it last year, and came out with a pretty good solution to make '03 Classic more competitive. RASE dynamic is probably a little different though.

oh no doubt I am looking thru RASE colored glasses. It would be great from my dd's team. As it is now CL could be one of the tougest most competitive leagues it's had in years. It would almost be worth kicking RASE out of it. You could realistically go into every weekend and not really know who will win. All the way down to 20 could be more about matchups and form for the day. It's definitely and exciting though. But wait, let me put my rase glasses back on

Balance - agreed. Like I stated in an earlier post above from #2 (with RASE being #1) down to #20 or so...

With respect to that #6 team, got a first hand look on Sunday morn. and they are in the top 3 mix for sure. Athletic and skilled. There are a couple of those other top 5 or so teams just holding a spot temporarily.

Solar had two standout players among a team of standout players. Their solution was for these two to play up with the '02's. I don't know RASE, but I think Go has mentioned that RASE is built a little different than '03 Solar, so I'm not sure this solution would apply to them.
RASE aside, I think a competitive Classic, especially first year, will be really fun to watch in the current landscape.

I'm not saying that they weren't still dominate, but there were 5 games out of the 19 that were decided by 2 goals or less. If memory serves, there was one game where they were down at halftime. This is much more competitive than the games in last years spring tournaments where the hung 7 or more goals on the top competition.
