Re: 01 ECNL Predictions (9/27 and 9/28)
No question Solar is off to a good start, and based on the score, showed well today against the Texans. They've also beat the bottom 4 teams in the division. If they come out and win the next 4 games, I'll give you your "best team right now." I'm always amazed at the detailed commentary that shows up on here just based on game scores alone. And while it appears that Lonestar made a statement today that's not the news that's circulating...more accurately, from sources who actually SAW the game, FCD did not play to win/missed a number of chances. Considering the depth of talent in the NTX area teams, I expect it will take the full year of play to see who is truly the "best team."

So I am going to assume that you are a FCD parent who is reading a little too much into a single line statement

So FCD didn't play to win the game? Bizarre observation from someone who SAW the game

Re: 01 ECNL Predictions (9/27 and 9/28)
Solar is the best team. The have the best mid field and defense. Looking at the scores, they are spreading the scoring around. As long as they have the 9 core players that have played for Bates for 4-5 years now, they will stay on top. Only team not to give up a goal.
Sting is starting to score like most thought they would with those forwards. Can they stay healthy? With so many new girls looks like it took a little long to gel but they are playing well for now. Still think this team will be in the top 3.
FC Dallas has a very strong defense and fast forwards. I guess we know they can be beat but still the 2nd best team in U14. They don't play Solar until December so a lot of soccer before the top 2 teams play each other.

still the 2nd best team in U14 ECNL. And to be honest, these declarations change week to week, and for all the mass tryouts and hype, it's all looking very familiar. I.E. - Sting crowned champs in pre-season, FCD starts out with a bang and is crowned the new champ a few games in, Texans get a big win here and there but don't crack the top 3, and Solar holds steady and confirms they haven't been dethroned.
Solar hasn't given up a single goal, so if I'm ranking all of NTX u14 right now I'm going:
1a. Solar
1b. Kicks
3. Sting
4. FCD
5. Texans
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Mark the calendars for Nov. 1 - Kicks vs. Solar...could end up being the game to see for U14 fall in this region.
