When is it time before seasons begin to stop training and let the girls rest?

Yes. Other than that first QT at U11, my dd's teams always took off at least 2-3 weeks after signing.

They would also shut down over the winter break for the same duration.

These days it seems there are more teams going non-stop throughout the year, even at academy ages. You have to look out for your player and enforce significant downtime.

I hope you're one of my parents Mr Eagle because that's exactly what we do. I would have given my team more time off had we not lost players to age pure!

Daughter does not play for Triumph, but I know several coaches that follow this schedule.

For the safety of players, why wouldn't NTX soccer mandate a dead time after tryouts. Two weeks close all the fields or maybe three.

Then the parents would want a refund for those 2 weeks that the clubs and coaches are not doing anything for their DDs.  And clubs don't give refunds.

Most bye teams are taking breaks. QT teams don't have that luxury as they have to prepare as teams and also need conditioning for the players to be able to compete in the conditions.

So, it's about winning and in this case QT's rather than the health and well being of players? Rest of young players and time away from the game are just as much apart of development. My opinion.

Winning is an important part of development as rewards hard work. Are you saying QT shouldn't be played in the heat or they should have scheduled it for later? Take that up with LHGCL. They are closely monitored and take additional water breaks so safety isn't an issue. What solution do you propose?

Playing young athletes year round with no time off is not development. I would not put winning and QT's in the top three of development. With age pure, tryouts and QT dates should change. LHGCL is not the gold standard anymore. Why do we punish our players in the heat for a crappy league?

They got weeks off when the season ended. We're not punishing players. Soccer games are played in all conditions including the heat. They need to prepare in these conditions so that they can safely play in these conditions.

Crappy league? LHGCL may not be the top league (ECNL and DA) but do you really think ECNL players are coming directly from APIL and PPIL? No, they may begin in those leagues but LHGCL will be a stepping stone to those better leagues and many LHGCL players will dual roster in LH as well as ECNL.

What is your solution for development that doesn't involve LH?

From my experience regular ECNL players are not playing in LHGCL. Remember ECNL rosters go up to like 23 players. Those players are already being put on composite teams that are already trying to coordinate themselves with the ECNL schedules.

What about elite teams that are still in the running for national championships? How are they expected to win if they don't practice and stay sharp and conditioned?

From what I'm hearing most have taken the next couple of weeks off. Yes you have to turn in your weekly mile time to the coach.

Since the object is to get into Lake Highlands, winning seems to be pretty important.
