Coaches/Teams

As this season ends my DD is expressing interest in finding another team. However where to start?! I know that as we have gone through our season her dad and I have watched how the other teams play and how the parents act. We have a few teams in mind, but are open to the right fit. Would like to possibly stay put in Classic League DI/DII. Just curious if anybody knows of any teams out there that might have some openings and where do they practice as well as the days/times.

Try Fort Worth FC.. They might not be in Lake Highlands yet but will be after summers end =)

How do you ask a coach for permission to go try out for another team without upsetting him/her?
I mean we're happy where we are but would like to check other teams out. Can't hurt. You never know until you try something else. Might be better, might be worse.

Just ask.. Sometimes just asking might open up avenues for everyone.. Good Luck =)

Do you have a particular team in mind? If you know someone on that team, ask them if they need/would like a guest player. Then simply ask your coach if your daughter can guest play with a friend and her team. It will depend on your relationship with your coach, he may ask why or ask if you are happy...or he may not. I think most will say yes ... or they should. If he says no, it will generally make a parent perturbed. If he really wants to keep you, telling you no may upset you. Some may say yes, but ask you not to publicize it to other players. I understand that...he wants to keep everything on an even keel. Sometimes when people find out other players are guest players they assume they are leaving. This can cause panic.

The flip side is of course your coach may think you aren't committed and look elsewhere, but in my experience...all coaches are looking...all the time So I really wouldn't worry. If he doesn't care if you stay or go, you don't need to be there anyway! I'd definitely ask. My daughter has guest played sooooo many times and we have met many wonderful people, some who have really become "friends." You never know, some of the folks you meet may come in handy the next year to two if you ever made a decision to leave. Networking is a very good thing!

I'm surprised more teams are not posting in the tryouts/teams/looking section.
I'm sure things will pick up soon. I know I'm making inquiries but my hands are tied until June.
