LHGCL roster question

When our team paid the bye fee we had 22 "rostered" players....we are now down to 13 on the official roster...will we be able to stay in LH?? Coach says we are fine but he has never coached in LH before...?

better go grab someone... roster minimum is 14....

Did all 8 you lost go elsewhere? or can you possibly keep one of two ghosts on there to meet the requirements

You won't be fine. You can probably submit a roster with 14 of the 22 on August 2, but with injury rates at this age, you will be lucky to get to 11 on the field regularly. Last year, the DDs 96 team with 20 rostered (and active) tended to run about 14-15 players once you got into the season. At one point the year before, the coach remarked that he had worried about getting his bench playing time with 19 on the roster, but due to the injury issues, he had become more worried about having enough subs.

Since the max roster is 22 you will need to leave room to pick up a player or two if you can, so you don't want to submit all the ghosts from the preliminary roster.

If you want to be honest about it, you best get some real players recruited between now and 8/2, so you can submit a legitimate roster, or withdraw from LHGCL if you don't.

No the team I'm on got the bye from our club...the 96 team lost most of its members and so our 97 team moved up in to the bye.

What division will your team be playing?

We were d2 relegated to d3 but due to dropouts we will stay in d2

You will be playing in D2 with a rostr of 13 97's that played In Plano last year? Even if you get 14 it sounds like it could be a tough season for the girls. The statements above are correct, you will have to have 14 rosters players for LHGCL. To help cope with injury, sickness, and all the other things that come up. I would shoot for 16 active players to make it through the season and prevent forfeits. If your team forfeits they will have to pay a fee to LHGCL.

I that is the PPL team I think it is it's gonna be a rough season as they didn't even get a PPL D1 bye. They finished towards the bottom of the lower 5 teams in PPL last spring.

Oh man....be careful what you wish for.

As a bunch of Juniors, your team probably does not want to play up in the U19 as you will only get half the games compared to U17.

We played the last two years with 14 and then 15. This meant a heckuva lot of games with only 11 or less healthy. Not good. We played the entire spring season with 11 and it was very difficult on the kids - granted, it worked out for our team, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

You do need 14 on your roster, but, you can come up with a scholarshipped 14th to meet that 14 player requirement. That still doesn't help with the inevitable church/school/injury conflict dilemma.

get a friend of one of the players who will allow their name to be rostered, she doesn't even have to play soccer, do not charge dues.....that will make 14, and good luck with the 13 in league play.
