Moving to Dallas, can someone explain?

Hello! My daughter is an 04, and we will be moving to Dallas next month. We weren't sure we would be moving otherwise I would have had her down there for tryouts. However, after reading the boards I am still very confused with how soccer is set up down there. Could someone please explain the system to me?
Here in Vegas all of the clubs play in one league, in either the silver or gold division. However I notice several leagues and "associations" in Dallas? How does that work? Are some leagues more competitive than others?
In Las Vegas and so cal, u-11 is considered competitive, or "select". However I notice that the boards still call 04 "academy"?
Finally, can you all suggest some teams we should look at? My daughter plays for the top 04 team here in Vegas. We are considered competitive in So Cal but more so at the bottom of the " gold " bracket in Cali. She is a very strong defender and can also play mid. I've looked at a few club websites but there are just so many teams and locations it's overwhelming. She is disciplined and committed, but I realize Dallas has a deeper talent pool than Vegas. Here she is a big fish, so it will definitely be an adjustment for us.

First off welcome to Texas.

04's are now going into Select U11 as of july 1 no more "Academy". Generally it would be fair to say that most of N.Texas top 5 teams are comparable of that of SoCals top 5 so basically look it as if you were taking your DD to a SoCal top teams.

In Select we have 3 leagues "Lake Highlands Girls Classic League" being our TOP league, followed by Plano and Arlington league.

What part of Dallas are you moving?

We will be in Keller at first, and then moving to the Richardson area.

Yes...1 year contracts. Keeps DDs from team hopping during the year. Full releases are fairly rare during the season.
