Hey, just perusing the GotSoccer rankings and noticed some weirdness...FCD Red took off! They are a decent side (I have mentioned I liked them before), but I don't see them in the top 5! Looks like a lot of points for one tournament that they didn't beat the top competition.

Again, it doesn't really matter, but it drew my attention. Seems like the tournament they "won" was a lower bracket but they got points from all the top teams...FWFC too! Both quality teams...neither is top 10 IMO.

Everyone knows GotSoccer rankings are a joke. All you have to do is play in the right tourneys to move up, and most coaches know how to manipulate it.

Yep.  Got 5000 pts for winning games against 3 teams, none of whom had even 800 pts.  Awarded a championship for a tournament that canceled. Not their fault, GotSoccer needs to mind the store a little better.

On the other hand, setting up a tournament with strong teams lumped in one bracket and weak teams lumped in another bracket and having the strong teams only play the weaker teams, then declaring winners, based on who smashed the weaker competition by the most is  a farce. It's a way to eliminate tougher competition without playing them.

All of that falls squarely on the shoulders of the TD. No legitimate competition is set up that way.

I don't disagree at all. And I like the other ranking site, though last I checked Solar's ECNL team wasn't listed in the NTX ranks...I put little stock in the Got Soccer rankings, but I just thought it was funny. Most of the rest looks pretty close to Pack's official ranking...lol, so I just hadn't heard any buzz, and didn't want to hear another joke that sucked-lop.

Yes, do not understand the points in some of these tournaments. Must give more points to better sponsors or something. Oh well, points are nice but really W's and L's matter the most. Especially in league play.

You are welcome InaB, but I must say, our hijacking was poorly executed.  It was dad's job to make sure all the hijack-ees were properly bound and gagged. He obviously failed miserably. He's been sent to remedial training for a refresher course on proper hijack protocol.

And now.....for a hijacking encore.....the double reverse flee flicker hijack.

High school soccer is presenting some interesting dynamics. Teammates against teammates, sworn enemies become teammates. I kinda like it. Break everybody up into new tribes and then smash'em back together. It feels a little more friendly.

I agree with this JW...it is cool to see some of the girls and parents that have known each other for years. I watched about 8 of the little girls I knew from U8-U12 playing with and against each other the other day. Caught up with old coaches (not old...former-sorry-lol). Cheered for both teams! Kinda like what I was saying on there the other day...as I have gotten to know some of you from here-to the sidelines, we can chat, laugh, and commiserate about raising 14 year olds...

Actually see kids in different positions too! Some that always played defense are now playing up top, and some forwards became outside backs...

I wasn't sure what I should expect, but the quality of play at the HS level has been outstanding..and 6-6A is a beast...
