Final Rankings from 2010.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe that this years U15 D1 teams all had some kind of ties back to one of the teams on the above list from the end of U9.

It would be interesting to know how many girls on the team today were on the academy team way back then.  A name is just a name at the end of the day.  Kicks SC obviously has a lot of continuity over time.  I would guess up to 10 girls on the team today were on the team back then.  I would guess most other teams have had significantly more turnover.  How many girls on the Sting Dallas roster today were on the Solar Hollis roster in academy (not including the Sting Shep girls who joined right before qualifying)? There might be more Sting Shep girls on the roster today than original Solar Hollis girls, no?

I think Sting North still has 7 from those days.

I wasn't trying to make any other point other than the teams in U15 D1 can all trace their roots back to one of the teams on this list. There isn't a team on this list that formed in some shape after U9.

Agreed that many of these rosters probably don't have many girls left from these U9 days. In the case of Sting Dallas, it's only 2 left on the roster from the Solar Gold days. Although just like Sting Shepherd, there are multiple other girls from that U9 roster that are on current ECNL and D1 rosters.

What would be interesting to me would be to see how many of the girls on the top 25 teams from the U9 list, are playing on current ECNL or LHGCL teams.

That would be an interesting statistic. My gut reaction is that about 1/3rd of the girls have retired and the vast majority of the rest are still playing ECNL or LHGCL today.

There are 10-12 girls from Sting Shep days still playing LHGCL.

Most of our girls from 2010 are still with us.  It has been a fun journey.

That chart definitely looks familiar! I dunno though, I'd wager MOST the teams listed don't look much like they did then.

By my count 8 players from the original kicks top team roster are still rostered on kicks top team. Probably about average for teams that had continuity over the years.

The kicks second team (formerly known as kicks white, now known as kicks gold) has been almost completely revamped at least twice since u11. A very small # of those players from u11 are still with kicks, which is probably about average for teams on this list that didn't keep continuity.

Maybe this linkage back to u11 FBR says more about how the NTX system makes it easy for clubs to retain spots in LH once they're earned at u11 than it does about player retention, or about whether the best players at u11 are the mostly the best players at u15/u16.

You folks do realize that the rankings Coach posted are from the end of U9, a full 15 months before QT, right?

I guess you're right and those weren't the final academy rankings. Other than a few teams blowing up, not much changed in terms of the teams in the mix.

Point is, rosters changed drastically over the years, but the teams and clubs not so much. Why?
