Don't have any information but it does look like their tournament isnt on the tournament list for 2010-2011 season. Who knows maybe one of their other teams wasn't on board and the club has to provide a team in each of the age divisions.

Wow! That was the first thing that jumped out at me too. Score one for USYSA. ECNL takes their first big hit. Will there be more?

So they're sending a U16 team to both NL and ECNL?

Hmmm, I hadn't thought about that angle. I don't know if they have more than one team in the U16 age group. I just thought that either one of the U15-U17 teams didnt want to do it and maybe they just decided to bail as a club. I would imagine it will become more clear sooner or later. It is a good team to lose but with the pick ups made it doesnt hurt the ECNL's competitive edge.

Eclipse Select still has an ECNL section on their website and they're still listed on ECNL's website as a member club. According to the Eclipse Select website they have two U16 teams.

Am I naive to think that SURELY those rosters are set for both teams and there wont be any inter-changing between them??? Or am I being an idiot for even bringing this up?

Sorry....its just the first thing that came to my mind....why wouldnt they put together their best team to send to each out of both. Sorry for being skeptical....but I have seen all types of things.....lions laying with lambs, cats playing with dogs, horses wearin people clothes, etc.

The one listed on the National League webpage is Eclipse Select 94-95. The other is referred to as Eclipse Select South 94-95.

ECNL membership is a "Club" membership, not just a specific team. If Eclipse wanted, they could pull kids off of different teams (from within the club) and use them at an ECNL event....and at a different event, a different mix of kids. There are some roster limitations but they seem to be pretty liberal. What doesn't make sense to me is Eclipse having a team in both ECNL and Natl League....especially since they seem to have common venues for their events. I also can't imagine that ECNL would be cool with duplicate enrollment. (Unc's post came up while I was typing this...it makes more sense if it's 2 separate teams)

I heard that ECNL was paying Eclipse for their support at the start of the league. Could it be that ECNL decided not to pay them any more? I don't see any other Eclipse girl's teams at the other age brackets, though. The Eclipse boys are well represented.

you know what...I think I have heard that before with the whole FC Dallas thingy with NTXU and Rev jumping in, and them creating an ECNL team, etc, etc, yada, yada....I think I dreamt that or something to that effect, once upon a hallucination.

Would they even have to be on the club? As I understand, it is simply rostered players at the beginning of the ECNL Season. Couldn't you make an all-star team from many different clubs and register as the D'Feeter's?
