It's a wild guess but it is probably because the tournament director does not think Feet and Price are two of the top 3/4.

Looks they have feet #1 seed. As for Pride...you think they should be a 4?

Even if they were, it's a Texans tournament so expect bracketing to favor Texans teams. They all do it. Surf cup even does it for surf teams.

It looks like the TD used the seeding feature in gotsoccer and has Feet 4 and Pride 5 and then made sure a Texans team was in each bracket...  I actually misread the State Cup symbol in gotsoccer, they were only semi finalist.  Still a tough draw, any team will have to scrap their way through to win this one.

Maybe the brackets have been update but it looks like Feet is the top seed, then Texans, Sting Hilton (huh?), Texans FW. OFC is seeded 6th and Pride is 8th.

I have to think OFC is the third seed and Sting Hilton is the 6th seed. I doubt the TD seeded a D2 Sting team ahead of a D1 Texans team.

The OFC team is a very strong team that plays direct and fast. I would rank the top 3 seeds as:

Dallas Texans (Just handled Feet in league play)
OFC (Stong team-would be top 5 in D1 Lake Highlands)
Feet (Can beat anyone if they bring "A" game)-proved that in Fall season

One of these 3 teams will win this one.

I dunno...doing well in a one off tourney couple times a year is something totally different from the grind week in week out of LH. Depth of roster top to bottom matters in a 16 game season. I'd have to see a whole lot from OFC to say they'd be top 5 in LH. 01 age group in NTX is very deep.

DD's team has played OFC 3 times in the past 16 months. IMO, they would be a solid LH D1 team, somewhere in the current 3-7 scrum. 1/2 step below Kicks/Solar Red, 1/2 step above DTFW/Sting North.

The AHFC01 team is a contender for Bracket D. We just played them in the Austin Labor Day tournament. They are big, fast, aggressive and dirty.

Normally I wouldn't cosign on that kind of negativity for a team, but in this case it's warranted. Our girls played this team before rain stopped the Houston shootout....dirtiest (girls) team I've ever seen this young...and ive seen my share. Raking ankles and whole 9.

If I'm a coach, I'm asking the officials to keep it tight and watch off the ball because this team has been taught the dark arts.

As you know, I'm not the usual suspect to say such a thing either, but it was so shocking to me that I wanted to give the teams in Bracket D the heads up.

In our game, our keeper was kicked in the head by their forward and, while she lay on the ground being attended to by the refs and our coach, the girls on the other team were laughing and high fiving. Then, the forward came over after several minutes, during which time our keeper was lying motionless, and said something to the effect of (in a mocking tone): "Oh, did I kick you? Sorry." Horrible sportsmanship. Makes NTX look like tea and crumpets. Watch out.

The sad thing is they have some very athlectic girls on that team, and there is no need to play like they do. I wonder where life lessons like that ultimately lead?

That sucks.. Hopefully all teams they play the coaches will let refs know before game

Thank you to the Dallas Texans players and parents that came to support the Solar Bates girls during the Championship match. Classy, classy, classy!

Congrats to Solar for winning the tourney! Great competition...finished strong with 3-0 wins in both the semis, and finals vs. top teams from SC and GA.

Congratulations to Solar Red for winning Disney! Looks like the NTX '01s continue to make a strong case for being very competitive nationally.

Also AWESOME to hear Texans came out to support a fellow NTX side. Many of us can discard the club blinders long enough to realize the success of any of our teams ultimately benefits the whole group.

Good to hear sportsmanship isn't dead after all.

Were they cheering or scouting for the spring season?
