who is the best ECNL 01 team?

I don't know (yet) what scrimmage you're talking about, but I will say this....I've been blown away by the talent of some the NTX 02s. They may not be an incredibly deep age group, but some of the top 02s are better than 99% of the 01s. The best midfielder I've seen u15 or younger is an '02.

North Tx Does seem to have some real good 02 teams the why is there such a difference in age groups? they all have the same training correct? or so to speak ......league, ODP, ECT....

Maybe it was those super strong '03s pushing the '02s this year in odp

I don't know about there being any major differences in age groups. If anything there are a greater # of top shelf '01 teams. I'm talking about those special phenom type players that can dominate even playing one or two age groups up. And not talking about the grown woman types that mature four years earlier than their peers and just run by, through and over everyone to physically dominate...I'm talking about those with the technical quality and soccer IQ far beyond their peers.

The '02 I'm talking about doesn't play ECNL or ODP, and yes I too am very interested in where and how she trained. Another '02 that is very, very strong over at Sting Angel does play ODP. It could be when talking about these very special phenom type players, they are so rare, you can't chalk it up to anything but the individual.

Losing a scrimmage don't matter because you always have teams from OK to beat up on.

you like to pick on OFC Oklahoma soccer teams but this weekend the OFC girls teams from there did pretty well.

this weekend is a huge weekend for soccer. So with 100's of teams in the tournament who do you think will win!! let's talk about that....is Sting and Solar in it?

Sting Flanagan appears to be the front runner in the 01 Group (Plano Labor Day Invitational Tournament).  

I see this as a tune-up and nothing more!

A lot of 5-0 to 8-0 wins all the way to the finals.  

Whoever takes 2nd place.....will be a distant 2nd!

Solar, FCD, and Texans (ECNL teams) will be tuning up this weekend as well in Ft Worth.
No doubt rain chances go up with all these local games this weekend.

Every second I spend on this forum is time I've lost forever... somehow that still doesn't stop me...

To clarify, Solar 01 ECNL will be playing in two organized scrimmages this weekend over in Ft. Worth.  FC Dallas Premiere 00's and the Arkansas Comets 00 team.  Looking forward to these games as there will be referee's and it seems to be very organized.

Yes, and FC Dallas 01 ECNL will play Sting West 00. Dallas Texans 01 ECNL will play Arkansas Comets 00 and Sting 00. Maybe 38 teams across multiple age groups from Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

I must admit.....I was way off on my assumption in goal differential for Flanagan.  Appears that Kicks Gold hung with them and made it a game.

I must admit I was way off on my assumption in goal differential for Flanagan.  Appears that Kicks Gold hung with them and made it a game.  

Flanny definitely wasn't the steamroller I thought they would be this weekend either, although they did take care of business in the end and won the final pretty handily 4-0 over the Gretna team from Nebraska. Flanny is a bit beat up right now, and had at least 3 key players out with injuries this weekend. However, from the chats I had with some of the Flanny parents and players, they will be the first to tell you that they know they need to play better.

Kicks Gold gave them everything they could handle in both games they played this weekend, especially in the semi-final today. It was a pretty exciting atmosphere with both semis going on simultaneously on adjacent fields, with all of the parents sitting back-back, and both semis ending up tied 2-2 after regulation. Gretna got one in on Sting D in OT to win 3-2, and Flanny/Kicks went all the way to PK's (4-2 Flanny on the PK's).

By the way, the Gretna team from Nebraska was definitely legit, and would compete well in D1 down here. Very good keeper, good speed at fullback, a very fast, savvy striker who knows how to finish, and solid depth. However, based on a brief conversation I had with one of their parents after the semis, my gut told me that they might not be prepared for the speed and physicality they were going to see from Flanny in the final, so the 4-0 score in that game didn't really surprise me.

Great weekend of soccer for the girls in the hot weather!
