The club wide collapse in Seattle didn't help much

Kind of hints at the answer to a number of questions:
. Is NTX the powerhouse that some feel it is
. Is the current NTX way the best way or are we living in the past
. Why so few if any players from NTX on the National Teams
. Do we have too many ECNL teams in NTX
Interesting in that there are the expected # SoCal clubs (4), East Coast clubs(2) but then clubs in areas in smaller population centers than NTX.
Do the east & west coast clubs play the same style soccer and focus on the same type of player development as we do here in NTX?

Collapse, or ineffective style of play and inability to compete?

All three. Although ineffective style of play being the main reason. That goes back to the question posed in the DMN article at the start of The WWC. 'Why has no woman from North Texas represented The United States in a World Cup in the past 16 years' ? The consensus from those quoted was because the club coaches are under such pressure from their DOC's to win that the style of play in North Texas 'Doesn't translate to the next level'. Women from 22 other States have played for the USA since the last time a woman from North Texas did, according to the same article.

Re: ECNL - 2015 Overall Club Championship
from what I've seen, some players would rather take 5 ill advised shots to maybe score one goal. Rather than make 5 quality passes that result in three assists.
Encouraged by parents that tell the kids to keep shooting.
At the higher levels coaches have difficulty translating proper soccer to this generation of players that are told that they can do no wrong. With most of the ECNL coaches, their teams are their revenue source. It's difficult for a coach to be highly critical. Accountability suffers. Parents despise criticism of their children. Yet they are quick to vocalize unwarranted critiques.
There should be no caste system in youth sports. There should be no nepotism in youth sports. The ECNL may have the better athletes but all ECNL teams have the better athletes. The subtle difference between mediocre teams and championship caliber teams is the willingness to put others before self. That's a hard lesson for the," Me first and you're the best, Jenny", new generation of players that we've created to understand.
Of course, in reference to the DOCs that were mentioned before, it can all be dissolved by selfish, volume shooters that get a fortunate goal or two.

Thought the ideal lineup was 10 target forwards and a keeper who could also score in a pinch?
If we could just get FIFA to implement the half court rule and a shot clock.

I've become so cynical about this stuff, that I am a little jealous when I see comments like this. There will always be nepotism in youth sports, even the good guys do it. It's an exercise in futility to complain about it, better to just be aware of it and navigate accordingly.

Do you mean they would have done much better than being Top 10 in the National if it wasn't for Club wide collapse in Seattle? I am just guessing that the Texans probably would gladly take that as the compliment.

In looking at the list above, Red is top 10, Blue is not.
