NTX girl soccer speculations

Talked to a couple of insiders this past weekend, here are what they believe.

1. Big3 will continue in DA for the next few years.
2. FDL will be the 2nd tier league, ECNL will be the 3rd.
3. Sting or Feet will be acquired by Big3, probably Feet in 1 or 2 years.
4. Sting has to join DA if she want to survive.
5. D1 colleges will focus and recruit on DA/FDL.
6. ECNL will exit from NTX. So LH will be the 3rd tier eventually.

oh here we go again....

There are too many girls to make all this speculation. There are a lot of girls who wont want to make the drive, there are others who didn't make DA and head to ECNL, or vice versa. D1 colleges recruit players. If you're a good player, you'll get noticed.

Agree. College coaches want talent no matter where it comes from. Sure, DA will be a target-rich environment for them. But, they also know there's other talent out there and they're not going to shy away from it. Hailie Mace took a very non-traditional club soccer path, is a stud for UCLA and recently made her first cap for USWNT.

What I do know Zizou is more cash in the offering plate for the big 3. Monopolies means prices are going up for membership privileges.

The comments about needing to be with a DA club at U10 are moronic. If you're with a good coach, a group of committed players who push you, your player is committed to getting better and she keeps her grades up, there is a school out there that will be happy to have you.

FDL is a good thing for us. We like our current club and coaches. We also like our HS program and do other sports. So we're not forced to move to an ECNL club.

Likewise for those who like their current ECNL situation. They don't have to move to DA to be recruited.

Choices are good.

It's all about the bottom line. What's next?

Are you SURE about that? It hasn’t even been a year and FDL hasn’t even started...
You speak as if some of the top clubs with the top teams didn’t just commit fully to the ECNL.
This isn’t to start a ECNL vs DA debate or argument, I’m just wondering where you get your insight to make such a bold statement? Where are the facts to support this?

Like show me an ECNL showcase list of colleges attending vs a DA and let’s compare it to one from last year. And also...there wasn’t a DA last year so those scouts didn’t lose interest in talent they’d been scouting for prior years just because they didn’t decide to take the plunge.

What you fail to realize is that anyone who has actually gone through the college recruiting process in NTX with their kid, and actually spoken to college coaches, is laughing their tail off at you right now.

Then again, we were already laughing our butts off at you when you were promoting Springate as the next great coach in NTX.

Last time I checked NYU, Emory, Washington in StL, U of Chicago, Johns Hopkins were still pretty "good" colleges. And no, they're not D1.

So what your telling me is you don't have to go to a D1 school to get an education that can serve you for the rest of your life. And the 300 schools in Division 2 might have a chance to succeed.

You are trying to tell me that big names might come out of small schools in certain sports. I don't believe it.

Guess someone needs to tell the one I recall who played in LH, then played at Princeton and now works at Goldman Sachs that she screwed up by not going to ECNL, going to OSU and selling insurance now.
