you are a product of everything you put out. If your on field product sucks and the players you pass on suck then you suck. The license does show you has some qualification to do the job and a higher license shows you have the interest to spend more time, money and energy into improving your knowledge base but you are correct it does not mean you are a good coach. But for the love of god stop being but hurt. Sensitive coaches should not be on the forums there is nothing productive for you here. Now if you will tell me who you are I will tell you if you suck or not so we can all move on.

Circling back to the majority of the discussion on this thread questioning what is happening at FCD. Are you also an apologist for a select level U14 coach with no playing experience and an E license. How effective do you think the skills lessons are, the game instruction, and teaching the fundamentals of the game.
FC Dallas doesn't follow their own guidelines for coaching requirements?

FC Dallas Select Coaches must attain a National “C” license in order to work with FC Dallas Youth Select teams (U11-U19). Coaches currently working for the club who have a “D” or lesser license will have 18 months to attain the “C” license. Coaches not acquiring the “C” license within the 18 month grace period must get written permission from the Director of Coaching in order to remain with the club. In addition, a plan and timeline for attaining the “C” license must be agreed upon with the Director of Coaching.

Obviously not.
While I have to wonder whether other clubs have the same rules (or same lack of enforcement), my math says a coach who took 04 select and kept them thru U14 this year would be 33 months. A coach that currently has an E license could conceivably go 4 years into select without obtaining a C license.

At the end of the day though, when you run mostly rec teams for the masses, it becomes difficult to get enough quality coaches.

I would fully expect the big college programs to turn to the DA from now on in most places in the US. Programs like UNC, Stanford, ETC recruit from the youth national teams to begin with so why not rely on DA moving forward. Will coaches still attend ECNL? Of course, but it will probably be to fill in rosters at the top programs. More than likely the D2 and D3 programs will come from ECNL scouting.
there are over 300 D1 womens soccer programs and over 8,000 players. while the top 20 or 30 D1 schools may be looking primarily to DA for their future rosters, there is a huge sourcing need for the remainder of D1 that ECNL and other avenues will continue to provide.
roadmap for scholarship:
1. be a nice person
2. make good grades
3. get on a good team
4. make good grades
5. decide which colleges "fit" you
6. make good grades
7. reach out to those colleges so they can see and know you
8. make good grades
9. be a nice person
