03 D1 Dual Rostering

If I were you I'd take SOAP's statement, "I have seen talented players on every team so far this year and I do believe second half of the season will be more competitive." as a huge complement to all those involved in D1

Well SOAP likes to "scout" other teams so figured why not tap into that ultimate knowledge to see just how accurate that list "might" be cause I don't know that an LPE parent has the ability - considering the statement, that seems like more of a dig than a compliment to be honest.

What board you guys been reading? SOAP gives compliments all the time.

I have friends with kids on a number of the D1 teams (mine is on one as well). The consistent feedback is that D1 can be split into 3 groups.

A. LPE
B. DTS and Texans
C. Everyone else.

Looking at the results from the fall I'd have to agree and tried to reflect that in my "list". I also think you'll find age and size behind these results as well. Remember that age pure didn't solve anything and simply shifted who the "young girls" were. So now you have teams full of Jan, Feb, Mar birthdays playing teams with Nov and Dec. Once again you can have girls that are 11 months apart, and at 12 it still makes a big difference IMO. My guess is if you ask the girls on say FCD when they were born a number of them would say December.

I sense some hostility here.. You wanting me to give an assessment of other teams without offending you is what I take?!?  I gave my assessment of what I saw from the teams we've played and at the same time gave opinion on the "Defensively they are susceptible" comment. Not sure if you wanted me to give a play-by-play, detail-by-detail of all teams/players I saw. Maybe your dd was one of the standouts we played and yet I didn't mentioned her personally.. Which team she plays for again? Refresh my memory..

that would have been nice to "assemble" divisions this year in LH instead of honoring byes. match the competition up accordingly...
Winning is fun and not essential but competing is. How can you play opponents week in and week out getting thumped evey time and be ok with that? is that good for "development?"

Honestly they only start bragging when we start ragging. No harm no foul. Should have been on here about 3-4 years ago. This is nothing now and probably irrelevant. They got knocked off their roost last year. Havent seen them play in a while but they had shooters at all level with technical and tactical ability and tenacity. Hard to beat.

Now they are like Rick and "The Alexandria" group on "The Walking Dead" and AP/ECNL/DA are Negan and the "Saviors"

To Soapbox Mom, it appears I may have misapplied  your avoid and evade comment earlier in this thread, for that I apologize.

ElClassico, I basically agree with your assessment above regarding D1. Not to be contentious, but just for clarification and added perspective on your age comments, 3 of Elites starting 11 and major contributors are 04's and I believe at least 10 of the 11 played in the 04 age group last year, so this specific team is not loaded with 03 players playing down.

Please don't take the preceding comment as boasting, just providing some factual context as it relates to this team.

DTS won from what I heard.

Good game last night, went down to the wire.. Those are the type of games I know we would like to play every weekend..

Finally starting to get some clarity:

Good showing by the Texans. Amazing how 2 1/2 teams can hold 5 spots.

#7 is big and physical now? I thought they were "a barcelona style" playing team...

To 10's defense they are the only team that's played LPE 2x and hasn't played 9 yet...That will all change this weekend in the highly anticipated North Dallas Derby. Who knows maybe they can start scoring and totally throw a wrench in the bottom of the table

for #7, yes...Barcelona style if by Barcelona style you mean Pique earning red cards and Suarez chomping on people.

but #6, they bring kickball to a whole new level but are always around the same spot each year. I guess scouting the western reaches of the metroplex results in some good athletes. My question is if the parents actually realize that kicking the ball as far as you can is not the #1 skill is soccer.
